So in summary:

Our Outs?

- BS seems to be ticking along. Their 17 looks the mainstay. I maintain their F1 for our F2 probably gets it done.

- CD is gettable by North for the right price and Power is making them pay up or pass on him.

- Jack seems like it?s a spread. Either 27 and salary from us, or 47 and no salary. A good old fashioned thrash out of competing interests on both sides here

- All look like Wednesday trades at this point.

- Garcia signed, JJ reportedly signed, so right now it?s only Keath & Clarke without contracts.

Our reported links to ins?

- Dogs in the hunt for Pick 13 from GCS. But there?s three better offers so I?d think we miss this one.

- XOH will not be traded if you believe GWS

Other moves we could make?

- Essendon Pick 9 could be for sale. But that will require a monster offer from us.

- Barrass. We have the likely picks to make all of this work if TB wanted to come.

- Houston. Carlton look to have gone a little cold and Collingwood outright said its preference is the future and not the present and won?t overpay for him. He could go to North, or again we will likely have the picks to make this work too.

- Cheap replacements for AOD/Ryp likely include likely DFA?s: Konstanty, McHenry, Taylor & J. Jones

Strategy?

- Looks like we are trying to get 3-4 picks inside the top 30 this year to all but finish the rebuild on the fly if Milesi and his team nail the picks. There looks enough talent still to compete next year, but bringing in the talent to climb again.

Future Considerations?

- Next year has a large number of likely delisted and retired players. We might want to improve our later picks as we are likely to use them. If CD gets to North, Pick 25 and flips of F3 & F4 would help next year.

- I?m confident Levi West will cost us a lot in 2026. If Jaxon Cooney also costs a lot we will likely need to trade using the two years in advance with the tightening of the DVI and bidding discounts. Better later picks next year which have the opportunity to be live traded for points picks in 2026 will also help.

- We are likely to be sitting on a huge pile of cash, after re-signing all our guns, so keeping an eye on 2025 Free Agents will be a worthwhile pursuit.

Monday AM Update:

If we accepted the shitty media reports on picks:

Smith 17
CD 25
Macrae 47 (no salary)

Draft Hand: 17, 25, 35, 47 & 48

Edit:

28, 29 & 32 probably get points traded. The 47 & 48 might get one of them if we want to trade up to four picks inside 35.
