Just finished watching On The Couch.
Robert Walls said that Matthew Richardson, Buddy Franklin & Matthew Pavlich will all be in the forward line for the All Stars against Victoria.
Not bad huh?
Funny thing is they all could have been the Richmond forward line every week!!!
They drafted Aaron Fiora & overlooked Pav & drafted DeLidio & Tambling & overlooked Buddy.
How scary would those 3 have been week in week out?

Another scary thought is all of them could possibly play extended periods in the midfield with their massive tanks. Sheeds & co will have some sleepless nights!

C'mon TCD you should know if they had been drafted by the tigers they would be butchering the ball all over the place and they would clearly have less ability. Once you don the tigers jumper, it does strange things for you.

It's fate that drove them elsewhere, besides, Richmond don't deserve them. The Tiges are way too hung up on stealing Bulldog players anyway.

It's very simplistic thinking on Wallsy behalf.
If they had Pavlich they would not have finished in the bottom 2 that year and therefore had no chance to pick up Buddy. Actually we would have had either Roughhead or Buddy if they picked up Pavlich.......Just another reason to hate Richmond.

Is that the draft year where we took Griffen at No 3?

Yes. The order that year was
1) Deledio - Tigers
2) Roughead - Hawks
3) Griffen - Dogs
4) Tambling - Tigers
5) Franklin - Hawks
6) Williams - Dogs

Geez I forgot Williams was a No 6, he could be anything in the future no wonder Rocket is excited about him. I hope he comes on ok but he seems a little injury prone. Crossed fingers. I'm happy with Griffen just the same.

Well considering Tambling and Deledio, we did well, im happy with Griffen, think he will last longer than Buddy.
Buddys body looks a mess already.
Who was after Williams, i know Williams is good player but cant seem to get him out of injury cloud.

Im sure Tiller was under the top 50 , cant see him though, was same year, same draught wasnt it?
Both him and Wells came to live at my mum in laws at same time.
Lewis, Bate and Momphries thats about it.

Think you have photographic memory.
I dont know if it still works this way but i do remember the 2 of them discussing how the money worked, had to be at club at least 2 years and salary went down in blocks of draft picks.
I know Jesse was on a bit more.
Should have been other way round.
In effect i rekon Jesse stole about $80,000 from the club.

I think each draft pick costs the club something like $200K minimum (not just salary but everything included).

Gee, Hawks did well out of that one.
Roughead, Franklin & Lewis are all huge assets to their side.

I was hoping that the Dogs would select Matt Rosa rather than Jesse Wells at 21. He wouldn't have solved our KP dilemma but I still regard him as a good footballer.

not 100% sure about buddy just yet. He has an unbelievable natural ability, but i just have a bad feeling about him off field. hope I'm wrong as he will but bums on seats for a long time.

Roughead is not too bad, Franklin is an erratic ball-hog, Mark Williams is the best forward Hawthorn have, in my opinion. Only needs one opportunity to kick a goal.
