Some people choose not to. It's no big deal but I like the idea of the Ron James award.

You can get votes in both.
It just helps see who the best young'uns are

I initially thought that but then I saw that Christiano Ronaldo won both the Under 23 player of the year, and the footballer of the year in the UK Premier League.
I think in the AFL we take a pretty short term view of athletes anyway and that there is nothing wrong with celebrating the achievements of our young players.
If we look at last years winner (Cooney) and the improvement trajectory he is on there's certainly no shame in recognising that

The Woof awards have been set up as two categories one for the Marmo and the other the James. The James is a good indicator on how we rate our pups.
It really is quite simple - vote whichever way suits you.

Never said there was, happy enough that young players are getting recognition, as BB said, vote where you're happy:)

The same could be said of your omission of Gia, he was bloody fantastic all day, especially in the second quarter.

4. Aker
3. Gia - played his best when the game was on the line.
2. Boyd - solid for 4 quarters
1. raffle but I'll go with Morris who kept Revolting quiet
Pups
2. Williams - even showed something up forward.
1. Griffen - if he kicked either of those 100m run goals he probably would have gotten a vote for the non pups.

lowedog, I get the message about Aker and how good he is - but those votes won't count unless you re-do them Aker getting 4, 3, 1 won't be graded as 8 votes. :D

4. Akermanis - best game of the year, important at crucial times
3. Lake - best game for the year after a massive scare early
2. Cross - worked very hard, still a few turnovers that were costly but very important
1. Giansiracusa - continued his great form, although more turn overs than usual
Unluckies to Boyd, Morris, Hargrave and Tommy Gun.
2. Tommy Gun - fantastic game, forward and back did his role, read the ball well, picked it up, kicked well, basically a very good game for a youngster
1. Griffen - thought he needed to work harder at times, but still did some nice things

I was waiting for someone to pick this up. I wanted to fit Hargrave in because I just loved seeing someone totally pants Milne, but I didn't know who to leave out. Then I realised Aker wasn't exactly going to need any more votes so ...
4. Akermanis - Best on by a mile.
3. Gia - Kicked the goals when the game was there to be won. Filled Murphy's lead up role really well.
2. Boyd - Great game from Matty - solid contributor all day.
1. Hargrave - Gave Milne a bath, used it well himself.
RJ:
2. Williams - has no fear...had a great game.
1. Addison - his decision making improves every week.
