Wallace is the greatest spin doctor. He was carrying on how they have 11 players with under 50 games. My question to him is.......what happened with blooding the youngsters in his first 3 years?

Funny story but I placed a bet with a mad keen Richmond work colleague early this year because he insisted that there was no way they would finish 9th in 2008. The bet was that he wasn't to buy his Richmond membership until he had purchased a Bulldogs one. I reminded him last week about the bet and he is just about resigned to the fact that he will be buying a Bulldogs membership in 2009. Outside of winning a premiership getting a work colleague to buy a Dog's membership is as good as it gets as far as I am concerned.

Heard Nathan Brown on Triple M this week say something along the lines of "Hope the Western Bulldogs dont win the grand final this year"

Which resulted in plenty of harsh texts to Browny, and well deserved..

If i got a chance to text (was driving, bad idea) i would of sent 'Enjoy the rest of your career in the bottom 8" :)

You and 25,000 other Dogs supporters, DG!

When Brown went to Punt Rd, every Doggies person I knew said they had no doubt who was going to take Frawley's job - TW. Why else would young Nathan go there?

Sorry, let me answer my own question - another Dogs player said at the Selector's Table that he was angry with Brown for leaving for money.

Wallet and money. Sounds like a natural double doesn't it?

Yes, I am still bitter...

I think we're all looking at this the wrong way.

He doesn't want us not to win out of spite... He wants us not to win because it will be the salt in is wound forever, as if for a little extra cash the footy gods gave him a smashed up leg, took away his best footy years and then ... have the club he left win a premiership as the team he's in will never win one.

I for one hope we do, as a bonus it would be great to know he will forever be thinking why he didn't pull his head in and be a team player at the dogs, not to mention this is a team that could not be taken any further, isn't that right Terry. With Gilbee, West, Johnson, Hahn, Lake, Hargy, Gia and so on and so on.

Apparently all seats, lockers, toilets, carparks and jumpers with the number 9 at the MCG have been now been put on the heritage list under Richmond and next year 2009 is being called the year of the tiger where theyre aim is to finish 9th.
Rumour has it that Demetriou has already told Richmond that the next 9 years draft picks are assured at number 9.
Richmond football club has also approached the AFL about all players wearing the number 9 jumper next year.
Wallaces contract has been lengthened another 4 years, making it a 9 year tenure.

Or us cheating Richmond by Lake faking a hammy and forcing someone else to take the kick - and instead of Wight taking the kick the umpire erred in giving the ball to Big Will who duly levelled the scores. It just gets better.

You know most people age gradually and you don't really notice it happening.
Other people just suddenly fall off a cliff.
Wallace's vanity has kept him dangling off the cliff by his fingernails. Dyed hair, and year round sun tans have kept him looking passable but, My God, he's fallen off the cliff this year. He looks like the picture of Dorian Gray. All his sins are etched deeply into his withered face.

Saving 500-600k large a season since 2003 has certainly helped us reward the likes of Cooney, Griffen, Gilbee, Hargy, Murph, Hahn, Gia, Cross, Boyd, etc.. It has also made these guys step up, take more responsibility and develop at a faster rate. People forget how fringe guys like Hargy, Gilbee and Cross were before Rocket came to the club.

Richo has always deserved far better than to wear that jumper. I remember listening to Sam Newman after he had an onfield spat at a midfielder. Basically said that when you're surrounded by dumb footballers like Richo is you've got every right to spit.

Richo was named by George Grjlusich (an ABC and 6PR broadcaster in Perth, now passed away) as one of four players to test positive on more than one occasion to banned substances ...

Obviously I don't know how true this is with the confidentiality clause hanging over the drug testing results, no one has this sort of info ... but his sources were usually very acurate.

We finished 9th again
We showed some promise
But we’re 9th again
We’re getting better but
We still can’t make the eight
When even Richo’s playin’ great
We’re still behind, but don’t you mind
We’re all keeping the faith
But this will soon all change
For when the Gold Coast Marlins finally hit the scene
We include 1 more team
But the League is so mean
‘Cause they won’t add more (teams to the eight.)
And we’ll miss out again.
