I agree. His kicking needs work but he busts his arse every week and got a heap of the ball in close.

Glad he won it, although not hard to shine in the Freo midfield lately.

Good decision - will be a very good player for Freo

Yes I think he deserved it but I still don't like him.
He's a show pony and he fakes for free kicks far too often.

Agreed, really impressed with what I saw from him, although I didn't catch a lot of Freo games.

Was a two horse race between him and Rioli,
Will be very interesting to see how much he won by, I would've thought it might have been the closes race on record

Palmer 44
Rioli 37
All but 1 judge gave Palmer full points

Rioli is over-rated

Yea Palmer by a country mile, he averaged the most disposals in a first-full-season that I can remember. Everyone questions his disposal but going on effectiveness % and clanger rate he is just as good as Rioli. Trent Cotchin will end up better than both of them but for now its Palmer.

Did anyone have a look at the breakdown of votes?
Adrian Anderson gave Wonaeamirri 1 vote, what a joke. Josh Hill had a better year than Wona, but still wasn't in the best 6 or 8 players, Wona would be lucky to be in the top 12 or 14.
Palmer was the deserved winner, but no doubt was helped by playing in a team with such a poor midfield.

I would have thought it was more helpful to play in a good midfield. Sure it's easier to get noticed in a bad one, but to get 20-30 possies in a bad one must be more difficult.

Rioli is over-rated
Karma dictates that this is a very dangerous thing to say in a week before we play them- I've been super impressed with him so far, so I cant agree in the slightest

He deserved it. Hair remains a concern.
