This may be a bit early, but it is a topic of much debate between my friends and myself ...
Can Griffen knock off Cooney for the Charlie Sutton Medal or is Adam a dead set cert. ??
Or ... is there another player this season that could take home the Sutton Medal
What do Woofers think?

Hard to judge,
Remember it's not like the brownlow,
Defenders have just as much a chance as a midfielder.
Brian Lake won it last year so who knows.

1. Cooney
2. Cross
3. Giansiracusa
Is my guess.
Don't think Griff has done enough this year to win it.
Akermanis could also poll pretty well, as will Murphy, Hargrave, Boyd etc.

Griff is no chance. Pretty good year, but not a chance in hell of winning.

I expect Adam Cooney to take home the chocolates.
Throw a blanket over Gia, Shags, Cross & Morris for 2nd and 3rd.

What voting system do they use for this?
I have a feeling they might have changed it recently, but up until a few years ago each player was given votes along the lines of:
0 votes = was beaten by his opponent
1 vote = broke even with his opponent
2 votes = beat his opponent
3 votes = beat his opponent and was a key factor in the end result
4 votes = outstanding game
I notice last year that Brian Lake won with over 100 votes so they either have multiple people giving votes or they have changed the system.

For me it will be morris, hardy beaten all year and the leadership shown down back will poll him 1 vote ahead of the coon dog.

Cooney or Cross from Morris. Shaggy and Murph to round out the top 5.

In accordance with rule 19 The Coon Dog casts his votes at the conclusion of each match & awards votes to the 5 players he considers to be the fairest & best (well, just best). These votes are then sealed & only opened at the conclusion of the season.
The votes have been opened & I'm shocked! Not so much with Crossy winning in my votes, but Coooooons finishing equal 4th. I thought he would have been closer to winning to be honest, but that's how I saw it.
Last year I actually had Matthew Boyd & Brian Harris (as he was then) coming equal first.
Here are my top 10.
1. 47 - D. Cross
2. 43 - L. Gilbee
3. 34 - R. Murphy
4. 29 - D. Giansiracusa
4. 29 - A. Cooney
6. 24 - M. Boyd
7. 21 - J. Akermanis
8. 21 - D. Morris
9. 20 - R. Griffen
10. 16 - M. Hahn

Crossy has had a wonderful year, but I would disagree with Cooney and Griff being so far behind the leaders ... Anyway, we'll see how close you are after the presentations

Tony McGuinness won the year Libba won the Brownlow. Libba won the B & F the following year.
I do appologise to Cross.
Change my prediction to
1 Cooney
2 Cross
3 Morris and Gia

I reckon Shaggy will win it from Cooney and Morris, with Hudson a big chance to be leading around the half-way mark.

What voting system do they use for this?
All 4 coaches vote & award every player a score of 0-5. A really good game might result in a player polling 16 votes for that particular game.

Would like to see Cooney win it, he took his game to a new level, but think Cross's consistency might get him across the line even though I don't think this year was Daniel's best.

If all four coaches are giving a maximum 5 votes couldn't a good game get 20 votes ??

Well done Crossy ... following in the mentors footsteps I see ...
