I think most people agree that the Sheahans list wasn't too far off the mark even though obviously there will probably never be a list that you agree 100% with.

Well I thought that I would share Michaelangelo Rucci's list (one of the chief AFL writers in the Adelaide Advertiser). Firstly it comes hot on the heels of Sheahans list (he wouldn't dare making one up from scratch) but where he strays from Sheahans list and offers up some of his own suggestions it gets really interesting. Oh, keep in mind this is supposed to be 'at the moment' unlike Sheahans end of the year predictions.

John Anthony at 50? Cooney at 25? Corey at 37? Oh dear.

He sure did and Choco spent a lot of the year pointing the finger at how crap he thought he had been, yet he still gets in higher than Corey or even Hille?

Re: Lade...would appear Rucci's still stuck in 04/05 mode.

Also appears a Brownlow's not worth much these days.

Davis and Didak at #18 and #19 respectively...astounding.

Kerr, Mitchell and Kane Cornes all stiffed.

Edwards?...Motlop?...John freakin Anthony?

Yeah this is the crap journalism we have to put up with on a regular basis. Chad Cornes at 7 and Goodes at 8? He is certainly stuck somewhere, without an ability to view any games from last year at least.

Again more rubbish not to be taken seriously...however, how the hell does Scott Thompson not make this list, from an Adelaide writer no less. John Anthony has to be a mistake.

I know it isn't an easy thing to do but this is a very bad list.

This is the 'atypical' Top 50 from Rucci, SA bias with several picks and then just some terrible selections.

Tyson Edwards in front of Scott Thompson..... Maybe 5 or 10 years ago

The standard of journalism this side of Bordertown is nothing special either.

Well the fact that there are 5 Port players is quite amusing. Lade and Motlop being the most amusing.

Its a pretty bad List, but then ive never taken this guy seriously

As for Cooney at 25 I think the Football world will need a second year of Adam performing at last years level to truly rate him(suprisingly still alot dont), thats just the way it is i think. If he backs it up this year again i think he will be in everyones top 5

Yeah, I had a good laugh at his pathetic effort yesterday morning.

It's poor

Davis and Didak that high is ridiculous. Lloyd on the list is a joke

I think Selwood at 11 is far too high also. I know he's a talent and has a great media bandwagon but he gets the weakest link in the midfield because everyone matches Bartel, Ablett and Corey up.

I know any attempt at a top 50 list is an excercise in futility in so far as it's a very subjective thing... but Jayzus.... has Michelangelo been licking toads?
The only other explanation I can come up with is he lost his planned list at the last minute and he's just copied some kid's top 50 effort from a well know footy forum and published that. Davis 19??? Anthony 50??? Lloyd 26???

Who gives a flying **** what he thinks. the bottom line for deciding where a given player sits on the so called "top 50" is .A/. What his coach thinks and respects and B/. What his supporters might thinkand even more importantly where his peers rate that particular player. I personally dont give a rat's arse of notice what Mr Sheahen or Mr Ricci think of where our players sit on a list. Let them get out there and shove it up 'em.

Sorry, I am under a lot of pressure, I am in far noth Qld trying to not only uphold the magnifence of AFL, but also to promote the mighty 'Dogs, believe me it is a very hard task trying to convert Neanderthals away from NRL to AFL, and when you do actually convert some, you wonder whether it was all worth while, it is not easy, and I do not tolerate negative thoughts and posts against my beloved Bulldogs.;)

Rucci is a tosser with a chip on his shoulder, everyone in Adelaide knows that, feel our pain, this dufus is the only alternative we have to the crow media.... All praise WOOF! For giving me articles besides 'Rucciuto drives car to shop' and 'Neil Craig wears red tshirt' and from Rucci 'Port arent treated fairly, crows get more attention than us wah wah'.
