Every few months I find myself nominating quotes of the year. So how about a thread for 2009??? Whenever a quote of pure quality is mentioned, post and nominate the contributor.

For me at this early stage:

With regard to comparing courage, physicality etc between DFA to J. McMahon

I know its not a WOOF quote, or even a recent quote, but I was reminded recently of Griffens "they gave up" quote on the Richmond game a couple of years back and laughed for ages.

Woof related though, you've mentioned a good one. Oh and usually anything Mantis says regarding Eagleton gives me a laugh.

Please don't encourage him :)

Less than a week ago, 3rd position in 2008 "flattered us". He changes positions more often than a porn star.-Sedat(talking about Mike Sheahan's opinions of the doggies.)

EVERY FULL FORWARD HAS MUSCLED OUT EVERY FULL BACK ON A "NUMBER OF OCCASIONS".

by Dancin' Douggy (I think), vehemently and emotionally disagreeing that just because Richo has beaten Lakey now and then he should be considered a good contested mark.

My review: An existentialist, philosophical tautology that calls into question the non-linear nature of truth and the word 'every'. Notice the sudden outburst of passion/disbelief evident in the consistent capitalisation, the stern quotation marks around an offending phrase, the rhymmic and rhythmic motif, the elegent brevity. While not strictly accurate from a rational standpoint, it is not possible to debate this without expanding the discourse to include the meaning of 'meaning'.

Genius. Accidental art.

Please note: the quote is wonderful only in its all-capitalised form.

(Re: Carlton) They might have ended up with the good Wiggins, but they sure as hell got the shit Smorgon.

Early contender for sure.

Journalist to Rodney Eade - Post loss to Carlton R5 2009:

Do you think having Cooney and Akermanis out could have made a difference?

"No. They're only both brownlow medalists"

That was a good comeback from Eade, I had a laugh over that silly journalist asking that question.

Worth it. Even if at threat of knee-capping. :)

His article in the paper today merely reinforced my view of him being an arrogant, conceited tosser. Tickets to Ben Cousins, all sold out. Bought by B. Cousins of Richmond

Summed up perfectly
