I think you'll find Eade is 'playing for the future'...

Eade really doesn't appreciate that this will put back attaining the status of Master of the Universe back two weeks.

True.

I am holding on the hope that Eade is just kidding around and Welsh won't really play. Stack will come in to replace him and Brisbane's will have no plans to stop the unstoppable. Stack dominates and Eade is hailed a genius. Or he just plays for Willy and gets 15-20 kicks, looking good in patches but struggling to put in a four quarter performance. Line ball to which one I think is most likely to be honest with you lot.

The team at Brennan Stack A Go-Go (a.ka me or Colonel Cool as I like to call myself) have noticed that the Ben Hudson BAS have created a new tee-shirt. Well done, it is lovely.

So we decided it was time to lift our game and give our loyal supporter group a piece of clothing to call their own. To wear with pride when supporting our messiah. Introducing to you all. the Brennan Stack A Go-Go argyle vest.

Unfortunately, red bubble does not cater for designs requiring argyle vests. :(

I would like to make a call out for fans to take snaps of Stacky during the pre-season. Post your own Brennan Stack pre-season pictures and be in the running to win a yet to be determined prize.

The phrase "yet to be determined" is an interesting one in the context of this thread.

Make or break year for Stack I reckon. Has he got rid of the moostakka? I dont know if there has ever been a player in the history of the AFL who has gone on to have a successful career sporting the "molestor moustache".

Ah.

You would be right, then.

ps. funny thing is I knew exactly what you meant, and after I wrote the Lethal comment I thought about deleting it but figured it was too much trouble! ;)

Did Warwick Capper ever have a disgusting porn-mo? I would imagine there would be some players in the 70s with a pencil thin thing but I don't recall...

Great to see so much love for the great man recently.

He (Stack) looks in great condition and is pretty silky in the way he moves.

* Stack was very lively across a half forward flank. Leading and marking very well. Nice game.

Brennan Stack is flying under the radar at the moment, but I feel that he's going to be a bit stronger and more mature this year. Could be the "smokey" for the improver...

Also looking forward to seeing Brennan Stack, don't know why, but there's just something about him.

it will be about Stacky like you Coon Dog he just seems to have that something I love.

Exciting news, I am having discussions with FDOTM about releasing Brennan Stack A Go-Go official merchandise. The argyle vests were disappointing knocked on the head. Any ideas would be most welcome of course.

If this thread doesn't outlast 'Official 2008 Draft/Trade Thread' then Stack must have given up footy. Even then we could speculate what he's eating for tea or when he's going shopping next so it should be a formality.

It's not about outlasting, it's about out replying. I have a huge amount of respect for 'Official 2008 Draft/Trade Thread' and believe overtaking it will be both a tremendous task and honour.

I must say though, I am very worried about '2010 memberships'. It is the replies to a WOOF thread version of Daniel Rich. Just as I am checking the replies to WOOF threads leaderboard I have just noticed that a thread dedicated to an inferior cult hero is about to pinch top spot off the aptly titled 'Trade Talk- Trade Week 2009'. Just one reply off.

Just a friendly Stackdate:

3 goals and in a ''very good'' performance according to GVGjr for Willy in their practice match against Coburg last week.

You can catch Brennan Stack on ABC from 1.10pm Saturday as he puts on a show against Collingwood's VFL incarnation. Brennan is far too high brow to appear on mainstream and pay TV networks. I promise his performance will be right up there with Richard Dawkins' on Q&A.

I have decided to launch a membership drive for Brennan Stack A Go-Go's facebook group. We are aiming for 2010 in 2010 and are only 1927 off that target at the moment.

http://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages&ref=mb#!/group.php?gid=203691275230&ref=ts

I also have a fun game for all of you to play. It's called "Pick when Brennan Stack will play for the Bulldogs next if you like but feel free not to play if you don't feel like it" game. As inane as it sounds we have options that don't include him playing this year just so we can include as many people as possible. Here they are:
- He will play for the Bulldogs some in the next few years.
- His next AFL game will be for a different club, one that truly appreciates how wonderful he is.
- He will never play another AFL game due to saving Africa or the like.

You can also add something enlightening and/or amusing to your prediction.

I will take Round 10.

OK then... I'm glad the game doesn't have complicated rules or anything ;)

I'll say he'll break with tradition, and suit up in Round 13 (lucky for him). He'll play reasonably well, but will be taken aside at game's end by The Beard, and given a stern talking to in regard to his lack of facial fantastic-ness. The conversation will be something along the lines of "You're gonna be alright son. You move well, have a good feel for the game, and you work hard. Get some hair on your face though"....

Oh guys, it just feels like all the hard work to right the wrongs are all worth while now.

First of all I'd like to thank the match committee for finally realising the folly of their previous ways.

Of course I had to thank all my fellow Brennan Stack A Go-Go members for keeping up the good fight even in our darkest hours. Our frivolous posts will not be forgotten.

Last but clearly not least, our saviour Brennan Stack. Playing in the VFL was clearly beneath you. Others would have been insult, cried and went home to mum but you continued to battle on for all your devoted fans.

Now it is time for Brennan to show the world what we Brennan Stack A Go-Go fans know, that you are the king of awesomeness.

So what did people make of Stack's game last night?

I thought whilst he didn't have a huge impact, he did some very nice things, and at times looked quite comfortable out there. I'd really like to see him get another game, although obviously coming up against Sydney it will be tough opposition so perhaps won't retain his spot.

The piece of play in the centre where he tackled, gathered the ball and was motoring away (only to just be caught) was very impressive. He just moves so effortlessly and was very clean on this particular piece of play. His second efforts were also good last night, and he followed up a few of his kicks and got involved again at the next contest.

A lot to work with, and like I said, hopefully he gets to string a couple of games together.

He did alright, It would have been hard to pick up that ball running into an open goal in the wet and he got abit of an awkward bounce so we can let him off for that but it was good that he kept working and got the ball back and had a shot.

I think Stack is in the team for defensive pressure and kicking goals. If stack kicks 2 or3 and lays a few tackles does it matter if he only gets it ten times?

I'm with Throughandthrough on this. I would be delighted if he actually applied defensive pressure (which I have yet to see) and kicked goals (which he did on one occasion only).

As you suggest, possession count is almost irrelevant but the other measures are also not being met.

Whilst I agree that we need a bit more from his as far as actual output, I thought there were some great signs last week.

He's got all the tools, just needs to keep doing his best to stay involved. He's getting better at it, and seemed to grow in confidence throughout the game.

Laid a couple of good tackles (one in particular which I mentioned last week), kicked a goal (should've had 2) and set one up.

I think he is so brilliant that the blind can sense him. I guess they could also just listen to the commentary and assuming it is accurate, base their judgments on what they have heard.

In all seriousness he was good and lively today, we need to give him another few games just to see how he peforms against more opposition.
I think he should stay in for the next 3 weeks at least - (Nth, Ess, Coll)

Could Stack be one of those players who needs continuous games, to really reach his full ability?

^ i think i might be right :)

I think it all clicked. From about the 20 minute mark of the first quarter onwards, he actually looked like a senior AFL footballer with enough X factor to be that crumbing forward/half-forward we desperately need. He got lost a couple of times as you'd expect of a kid with littler senior experience, but that will come with time so is not a concern.

I admit I had my doubts about Stack but on today's performance he certainly can make it as a footballer. He might be the type of player that gets games simply because what he offers to the side is unique in terms of our playing list and will grow into his role with experience.

I feel that Rocket is letting him know, that it's there for him if he wants it. Stack could have a massive influence on our season, playing as a quick crumbing forward around Baz.

Agree with others in that I had my doubts over him. Today's game was much better than last year's one v Fremantle when he kicked 4. He looked like he belonged and summed up certain situations really well. He had composure to slot a few goals under pressure too - good signs.

Obviously has the talent to play the game. Question comes down to consistency and his mental strength. As has been explained, we are desperate for a crumber so if he can hold his spot and continue to improve it would really improve our squad.

Funny how we look much better with Stack/Grant in the side, despite their inexperience.

I'd say Stack was good-great today. Really continued on from some of the good signs he showed last week, presented, did well with his second efforts and generally managed to stay involved fairly well over the game.

Some of his ball handling was a highlight, as well as a couple of his goals and efforts spotting up the leading player. Great stuff, very pleasing.

I like his finishing skills. He seems to just know how to kick a goal - particularly in general play when he doesn't have to think too much about it.
The thing that has me a little concerned is that he just doesn't look interested all the time. Probably just a personality trait - quite laconic, unlike Grant who you can see is trying his guts out the whole timne he's on the field.

Why is it that Aboriginal players make the best crumbing forwards?

There is the obvious they are quicker and more agile, but it seems they have the instinct for it that others don't have.

There a few reasons, agree with the ones you mentioned.

I think a part of it is how they go about their footy in junior ranks. I think in the mainstream it's about about being an effective player and youngsters are programmed to play in a certain way that suits a team's structure. It seems like indigenous players spend more years just playing footy to have fun and do individual/creative things rather than being fundamentally team focused.

Brennan Stack A Go-Go needs you!

After the enormous success of the original Brennan Stack A Go-Go T-shirt (just sold one), the team have decided to launch another design.

So I am looking to my fellow BSAGG members to help come up with photos and designs, perhaps a few t-shirts we can rip off.

While the first design was awesome, I want this one to be very simple.

Now I know the show is mainly about indigenous footballers and it ihas a right to praise them, but I think sometimes we have double standards.
Why do they have a segregated award ?
If it is a footy show it should celebrate all footballers no matter where they are from.
Could you imagine the press and the furore if the the idiots on the Footy Show gave a trophy to the best non - indigenous player.
