That Callan Ward will commit to courageous acts, and I'll burst into song, trying to get everyone around me to sing 'Callan the Brave' much to my wife's chagrin

(I noticed no love for that on the other thread - carnnnn, you know you want to - do I have to start a 'Callan the Brave' appreciation society?)

Cooney

It looks like his knee isnt borthering him

His fitness is building

He is regaining touch

Hopefully his team-mates will protect him from the likes of the evil Paddle Pop Lion (Ling)

Hungrier than ever!!!
Can that smile get any bigger!?
Oh wait, it probably could if he could lift up that premiership cup! ;)

Aker. He has the form, application, experience & hunger. Leigh's 100 to 1 comments must have registered something.

Gee so many to choose from here, i'd like to say Bobby cause he is sooo important but just looks like he needs another solid month of footy. So i will say Ryan Griffen i think he is made for September action.

Brian Lake - marking anything that comes into the defensive 50 and also to snag a few goals....

LostDoggy

Lake is our most important player, thus hoping he is the best during finals.

Matthew Boyd. Hard runner, hard footballer, gets his own ball and uses it well and will continue to kick a few important goals.

Cooney/Griff a tie.

The former is in cracking form and is moving exceptionally well at the right time. He's going to be so crucial in the next few weeks and the addition of Griffen is only going to help.

Griff seems to play better on the MCG and in the bigger games. Really hoping he sets this series alite. If these two hit strong form we'll be hard to stop.

Griffen... Can see him tearing it up. Last year he was quite good in the finals. (As was Tiller, Harbrow,Lake,Minson)

Love for the big man Minson to dominate play.

I predict a bag of five from Aker in a game where we otherwise struggle to kick goals.

Cooney to run amok in all 3 victorious games.

Big games from Gilbee and Griff at the end, for their Dads. May sound cliched, but I think it will provide them with a huge spur.

Gonna have to agree with this one.
Harbrow, Great stand out year... He would have been lucky to be in the best 22 this year for mine at the start. But hes turned into a star.

Last night Hutchy was talking about why the dogs would be better finals team this year to last year. He mentioned some new players including Harbrow.

HELLO - Harbrow was our best player in the prelim last year Hutchy.

Callan Ward for mine - has taken a step up over the past 3 weeks and appears to be still flying under oppositions' radar.

Cooney will be very hungry this year - after playing injured in last years finals. Seems to be peaking at the right time.

In fairness to Hutch, Harbrow wasn't exactly a household name to outsiders last season compared to this season, the most impressive part of his game this year, is that with alot of younger players, they can start falling away later in the season, he's getting better & better, really primed to have a very good finals series.

But for me, Cooney, his fancy footwork, being able to break the hard tag again, to burst out of packs, stand up Adam Coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooney!

Boys, Boys, Boys #4 D Cross will be in absolutely everything, he will be our best of the next month and that should give the outside runners a free run to cut it up to our small but very productive forward line.

I just hope the goal posts are a little thinner in September.

Hmmm tough one, I will say Brian Lake - he is starring at the moment. Followed by Johnno!

Ryan 'September' Griffen
Got it in one - he's already been our best player in 3 of the 5 finals we've played since 2006. His game is tailor-made for the larger grounds and the dry weather. And now he has developed the ability to win his own ball in the last 12 months. Pending a successful recovery from injury, he could explode for us.
