2. Harbrow- back to his running best
1. Cross- shutting down Black was crucial and he not only shut him out but won ball himself.

How good is our midfield, with Cooney, Griffen, Ward and Higgins leading the way. Throw in a genuine tagger in Picken, and the hardened grunt of Boyd and Cross and it's pretty bloody formidable.

3. Eagleton - 30 possessions and 3 goals, great game.
2. Boyd - THis guy is a work horse with 36 possessions.
1. Gia - 33 possessions and all quality disposals.

Apologizes to Cooney, Hargrave, Johnno, Ward etc etc.

And what about Daniel Cross, kept Black to 14 disposals and still picked up plenty himself.

Apologies to Griff, Boyd, Cross and Gilbee. If Griff was able to play the full game, he would of figured in my votes. He was very good when the contest was alive.

I think I may have sent you a txt pointing out my displeasure at Morris' game. He was better in the 2nd half, but Bradshaw had his measure on the night.

Yeah something about 'Worst game I've seen Morris play'.

Dale's game must have looked much better on TV.... or perhaps 'dales.girl38' has successfully hacked into 'Furtanken's' account.

I thought he battled on well, Mooney last week and Bradshaw this week are dangerous players and received some of the best forwardline delivery of their side's forwards. Remember Morris is really covering for Williams playing on bigger bodied opponents. Maybe you are forgetting the number of times they went to Bradshaw one out, Brisbane are really two-dimensional and keeping him to 3 goals with that number of opportunities isn't so bad. He was one of 9 players named in the bests in the match report on the AFL site as well

Given that Jarrod Harbrow didn't even rate a mention in those 9 players I'll treat that assessment with the contempt it deserves.

You musn't have seen when Jarrod Harbrow was busy keeping his opponent stone cold through 4 quarters.

Or when Harbrow put himself in J. Brown's path to make a spoil.

Or when he ran out of defence and bounced his way towards setting up a goal to Higgins.

Come to think of it, I'm starting to get curious as to what game you were watching.

I fail to see why we need to suggest a posters view of the game is less superior to our own

I thought Morris was very good. I rate Bradshaw very highly and thought he did an excellent job on a very dangerous player - one of the most underrated forwards in the game.

Harbrow was also very good

However, I didn't think Gia had a great impact whereas others did.

But I fail to see why someone elses view would be questioned

I was just interested in the reasoning for why he gave votes to Morris? Personally I wouldn't have had Dale in our best 15 players, but that's just my view.

I think we have the right to question other people's views (I'm happy for people to question mine) and in this case these questions were answered.

I agree

I think you questioned Furtanken's view in a light hearted manner

I didn't think Westdogs response was quite as light hearted

I would have thought given the importance of shutting down Bradshaw that you would have rated Dales game more highly, but I can live with a different perspective

Should I presume that you ranked Morris at #16, one spot ahead of Eagle at #17 ;)

My call is usually just as I see the game.
I don't go back and check stats to make my decision.
As for why I chose Morris, I thought he did exceptionally well in keeping Bradshaw to 3.
Bradshaw was looking like he could have kicked a lot more, and set up a lot more.

I saw that.
I also saw him hesitate initially and pull out of the exact same situation 5 minutes prior.

Anyhow, as already pointed out, this is irrelevant.
My one vote for Morris won't count anyhow.

For the record I just checked the game ratings from the AFL WEBSITE:

Jarrod Harbrow – 7
Another excellent performance across half-back in the youngster's breakout season. Played on Rhan Hooper and shut him out, but also provided plenty of run from behind.

Dale Morris – 7
Matched up on Daniel Bradshaw and got led to the ball a couple of times early before tightening up on the dangerous Lion. Had three goals kicked on him, but probably shaded his opponent.

Guess I'm not alone.
Who's harder to shut out of the game?
Bradshaw or Hooper?
