THE Western Bulldogs have welcomed former Sydney Swan full forward Barry Hall to Whitten Oval.
The details of the trade are not yet known, but the Bulldogs confirmed this morning that the deal would go through.
The Dogs said in a statement that the details of the trade would be finalised later this week.

THE WESTERN Bulldogs' search for a key forward has ended with former Swan Barry Hall to play with the club from 2010.
The much talked about trade was a little while in coming but was completed on Tuesday morning, with the Bulldogs acquiescing to the Swans' demand for a third-round draft pick.
The clubs will also swap two later draft picks as part of the deal, with details to be confirmed later in the exchange period.
A clearly relieved Hall said he had feared the negotiations would stretch throughout the week.
"It was a tense couple of days. I thought it would get done with a couple of minutes to go on Friday", he said.
"The uncertainty is gone and we can look forward to setting up down here and cracking into training.
"The hard work starts now."
Coach Rodney Eade believes Hall will add more to the team than just an avenue to goal.
"It's a great result," he said. "A player of Barry's quality – I think what he brings to the group is more than just his playing ability, his experience and the way he can play.
"He's such a team-orientated person. I think he can mentor our young forwards as well so there's a dual role there for him. It's certainly pleasing to get it done early in the week."
Eade also said there had been no movement on re-signing full-back Brian Lake although the club remains confident he will stay with the Bulldogs
More to follow.

According to the HS, the pick 47 portion of the Barry Hall trade has already officially gone through to the AFL, with Sydney and Brisbane then swapping picks 47 and 39 (most likely previously agreed to as part of the 3-way trade between WC, Sydney and Brisbane):

It'll be strange seeing Hall in the jumper. Pretty much like it was for Aker, now I can't imagine him without it ;)
Hopefully we play Round 1 at ES.

It'll be even weirder saying we have a tall forward again. And ever weirder not hearing calls for the Dogs to get a tall forward or else they can't win a premiership

They'll move on to something else... like "Dogs too reliant on Hall" or "When will Bazza snap?" Let's hope the boys give 'em something more prestigious to talk about!

Still in post-Bazza/Briza euphoria... hastily put this together... let's hope it's a scene played out a heap of times over the next couple of years! (Apologies to Scott Welsh, the unfortunate victim of the Photoshopping..and yes, I know Bazza is taller than that!)

Was talking to my mum last night, and she told me she has nicknamed my nephew (her grandson!) BIG BAD BAZZA! Like the adult version, he is solidly built, short of hair on top, and has a fuse about 0.0001 millimetres long... unlike the adult, he's 6 months old!!! Thought it was hilarious...

The pick was a really late one (80-odd), so we just didn't bother.
