I seem to recall not too long ago a horse named after Will Minson, it did alright? Is it still racing?

Minson is retired now after having a lot of success. From memory it won about 5 races on the trot.

I'm fairly sure some of Minson's owners are the same as the syndicate that own a newer horse 'Burly Griffen' - who goes ok for David Hayes.

Yes, I heard the owner of Minson on the radio last week and he said he names all of his horses after bulldog players.

The most recent of them is Cross Street.

If that's a double tribute to Daniel Cross and Peter Street, then that's got to be the slowest horse ever over short distances.

Cross Street is also the road on the southern end of the Whitten Oval, of course.

If he is the Daniel Cross of horses I think I'll give him a miss down the straight but I'm on him for the Cups.

The perfect horse for beginners - nice and slow and doesn't kick :D

How would I know that? I don't go to the Western Suburbs.
