According to Inside Football, Howard is 184cm 81kg.
"Christian is an ex-Sacred Heard College boy who we were a little disappointed with in the first half of the year because it took him a while to establish what he needed to do and the work rate required. But, his last half of the year was superb. He is one of the best kicks I've seen and he was our designated kicker all year and I don't think he missed a target. He runs off half black, has great running ability, good endurance and trained the house down over pre-season. Has learned to really play the team stuff this year". - Glenelg development manager Brenton Hole.

Matt Burgan: Howard is fascinating. It was no surprise at all that he got drafted. Recruiters rated him as one of the best kicks in the draft. He played in Glenelg's under 18 premiership. A wing/half-back. There was speculation from one recruiter prior to the draft that he would be a top 30 pick.

Tutt - small defender who runs and carries the ball well. Very good athletic testing and was the designated kicker for the NSW/ACT side.
Sounds like we are really valuing kicking skills this year, which is pleasing.

9- Lucas Markovic – 191/81 (Eastern Ranges) – state screening - strong overhead – has a big vertical leap and can leap straight up into the air at the end of a lead (a trait which Gary Ablett and Roger Luders had) which will enable him to protect the ball from defenders more as well as making it harder for him to be pushed under the ball.
He kicked a couple of bags of goals to end the season before badly dislocating his ankle in the first game of the finals series which will be interesting how much it has mended by the time draft camp gets here, obviously not enough to do the tests. Played a lot of the year in ruck before being tried as a key forward later in the season and this is when people began to notice him. Even earlier in the year his marking ability stood out.
He does not do much at ground level and will need to improve that part of his game. The only player in this draft who is capable of becoming a 100 goal full forward. The injury could see him slide down the list. TAC 9.2 kicks, 2.9 handballs, 12.1 disposals, 4.5 marks 1.1 goals

Drafting 2 players late who are 22 and 23 it seems like they wanted some mature players who could produce earlier rather than 3 - 5 years from now. Really don't know enough about the players to position them on the field.

Obviosly the club has a heap of faith that we our current devloping forwards are on the money, Between Cordy, Grant, Bouman, Jones, Roughead, dare I say Everitt, we should be capacble of finding a decent spine.

3 half back flankers is interesting. I would have liked to see a half forward flanker.
Markovic looked a certainty to be drafted a few years ago. Bit surprising he was nothing more than a rookie at the time. Interesting choice. Obviously is a big mature body with plenty of experience at the next level down. Possible insurance policy in the wake of the Wight/Skipper/O'Shea delistings.

Considering this is Dalrymple's first draft, you would have thought he could have played it a bit safer. Still listening to Dalrymple on Sen now he rates his Howard's kicking from outside the 50 - so on the money he will be a replacement for the Eagle. Still disappointed at the moment when I look at who North have managed to get.:(

That's the most important thing, as of tomorrow they are all simply young footballers on an AFL list trying their best. It is irrelevant if they were picked first or last they all have the same opportunities in front of them and I look forward to seeing how their careers play out.
