Reckon we need another ruckman. Who is the best ruckman outside the AFL?

Port are apparently considering him again this year, but I guess if they take Cloke they may not require another ruck.
I think we should certainly be looking at one mature ruck who could play 10-15 games if required. Apart from that, a best available approach seems a good one, and I actually wouldn't be surprised to see us grab a few more fleet footed, highly skilled players.

Interesting to see they have Guy O'keefe going to Gold Coast.

We could use Everitt as a backup/emergency ruckman and spend the draft pick on Patrick Rose as a goalsneak. Maybe I just like goalsneaks more than dopey ruckmen.

Dunno whether it's really that interesting to be honest.
a) It's just Burgatron's opinion, b) he's been on an AFL list for 2 years so he'd know how to assimilate much better than a rookie you would think & 3) Scott Clayton drafted him to us & he's the GC17 recruiting manager.
Good luck to him, but he'd need a complete attitude change to make it work!

And a 6 Million Dollar Man type revamp of his athletic abilities. That being said, GC are cashed up ;)

I wonder if recruiting a cyborg gives you some salary cap benefits?

Are you suggesting the Crows have found a way to expose the cap? ;)

Thanks TCD. Not sure about the selections though, just seems like a repeat of the draft with 2 highly skilled players, 2 backup (older) KP's and a small that is not quite a crumber. I do like the sound of Rose's goalscoring with Aker and Johnno almost done and Dyson's pace, but along with these two I think a ruck backup and a whippet crumber are rookie list player types that we need to look at. The crumbing of Malcolm Lynch and ruck of John Shaw on the 2009 rookie list are the type I am thinking of, just better versions of course

Andrew Hooper was unlucky not to be drafted and may be on our radar.

Here's a thread from just before last years draft.
Have a look at Scorlibo's post #15.

Post #20 from that thread:
We are looking at Aaron Elari a small midfielder/forward from WA for a rookie spot.
Elari was too young to be rookied last year but this year won the Jack Clarke medal for WA colts B&F. I wonder if we are still interested?
