Had to ring because I am at work today and don't have internet access (except at lunchtime) and wanted to get in early.

I think the lady I got, was on something - such a little took ages and even told me she would say how I say the suburb differently.

Lady, I rang to book 2 tickets, not to be told that I say my suburb incorrectly (according to you).

Now that I have that off my chest.

GO Dogs.

Yeah that's a bit rude (and a little funny)

Suburbs in Melbourne where pronounciation could differ

Reservoir
Vermont
Berwick (a Canadian girl I knew insisted on saying bur-wick)

Any more? I'm derailing this thread aren't I?

Quickly derailing - yes it was funny and yes it is one of those suburbs.

But still would not tell someone how to pronounce where they live.

Any lets get back on track now.

What are the different ways to pronounce Vermont?

What are the different ways to pronounce Vermont?

North-east in the US, they say the 'mont' part very quick, almost sounding French

I'll concede I've never heard anyone in Melbourne refer to it as such...except me to friends who grew up there in an attempt to annoy them

Haha. I thought it might be a difference between Va-mont and Ver-mont...which I think might be the difference you were saying? Va-mont is how I imagine Americans to say it.
I live there, and I reckon I've only ever heard Ver-mont.

But anyway, where are we all sitting...?

I work there, and have heard "Burr-wick" SOOOO many times... you'd think Melburnians (or as the Yanks say, "Mel-bore-nians"!) would get it right..

Oh, BTW, my mate's factory used to be in Rezer-vore... ;)

I assume everyone who brought their tickets online has the same problem, it said yesterday couldn't print tickets yet, should be available in 24 hours. More than 24 hours has passed and still can't print them ?

I also bought general admission, but like Alexxx, I'm just happy to be there :)

This 'short' week will drag for two reasons - am also on annual leave at the end of this week. Was supposed to have Friday off but am now working :(

Still having issues printing the tickets too.

Another suburb that can be added - Mordialloc. We had relatives out from England who pronounced it Mor-di-al-loc. :D

Any word on how to get around this?
I purchased my tickets just then, got that 24hr message bs and dont want my money wasted.
Has anyone contacted Ticketmaster? Or has anyone even been successful in printing them out?

Agree totally. $30 for general admission for a glorified practice match is ridiculous.

Just rang Ticketmaster & spoke with a lady as I haven't received an email like I have in the past.

She advised that they do things differently now & not everyone receives an email.

The advice she gave me was to log onto the Ticketmaster website, go to 'My Ticketmaster' & just print out my tickets from there.

I rang yesterday, tried before lunch, gave up rang again in the afternoon, was on hold for 2 hours !
Was told they would most likely be available last night. Tried this moring and was finally able to print from the Ticketmaster site, no email. When the girl said the hold up was because the venue wouldn't let the tickets be released for printing, WHY ?
It would have been a brillant idea to post something on the website, so we didn't all waste our time trying to print and ringing.
