H/S - 16/03

WE WILL only know if star Bulldog recruit Barry Hall has learnt to contain his anger when the real season starts, Wayne Carey said today.

Carey said this morning that Hall's temper was not seriously tested in the NAB Cup but he would be under constant pressure in the home-and-away season from opponents trying to make him lose his cool.

Hall has been the star of the pre-season, kicking 17 goals and winning the Michael Tuck Medal for best on ground in the Dogs' NAB Cup grand final win against St Kilda.

In all honesty, I'm very reluctant to pay attention to anything Wayne Carey says...

It's just an extra provocative headline with very little substance held within. Just to get a nod from the Carey haters...of which I am one of course. But nothing out of line said there.

Hall is a better person than Carey will ever be. Off the field he has an exemplary record.

On the field he has had a couple of moments that he regrets, but hey, go back to the 70's/80's to see the real gutless thugs of the game.
