We think the current list has talent, but look at the names on program.

OK forget the Geish, but the rest went OK.

Reminds one of why we made the finals the next year and the tumult that a career ending and life changing injury unleashed.

Later opened the bowling for Queensland and had a run-in with the great DK Lillie. Harry finished the argument by uttering, "It would be worth a few weeks to give you a smack in the mouth."

In 1971 Ian Salmon wore number 18.

Steven Power wore number 21.

'Snapper' played 177 games between 1969 & 1979. He was runner up in the Best & Fairest to Gary Dempsey in 1974.

Pretty sure that's a pic of Snapper on the front cover of the new history book.

Power was a fav of mine (and every other Bulldog supporting kid in the 70's. He was made for internet forums, the WOOF crowd would love him!

Faster, shorter and better skilled version of Dylan Addison (Addison is only as good as Power was in his dreams).

Power played HBF and wing, always went flat out and almost always leading with his head. A genuinely tough bloke in a pretty tough era.

My Mother, Brother & I drove to Adelaide for that game against Glenelg in 1973. I was NEVER so glad that we lost a game of football as I was in that game. We wore our club colours with pride, but we would have been KILLED but those Sth Aussies coming out of the ground at end of match. The hastle that they gave my poor kid brother was appauling:mad:

Some pretty impressive names across both sides. Geez, Glenelg had some pretty decent players back then, although by the looks didn't have much success against the Dogs.

I think Glenelg lost, looking at the above. Glenelg did go on to win the SANFL flag that year, in what is often called the best game of footy ever played.

I love the 'notice' at the bottom of the program. If anything in this decrepit stadium falls apart please remain in your seats and we'll fix it long enough to finish the match. Hoo-roo!
