After tonight's performance this one might get interesting.
Lets try and stick to the script.
Spoilers = A (One) player that did not quite measure up to expectations and the reasons why?
Guns = 3 players that stood out on the night and the reasons why?
Money = Someone who's skills stood out in the game? This can be one particular passage of play.

Where too start...
Spoilers- Aker had a shocker, hasn't been great all year. Looks slow and the events of the week must have been weighing on is mind
Guns- Huddo was our best, Picken attacked the footy and tried all night, Hall kicked five from limited opportunity
Money- Grant did a few good things, a nice grab and and the banana pass that Cross buggered up
Spoiler - The amount of times we went sideways instead of direct and our disposal.
Guns - The Bearded one was great and showed endeavor all night.
Money - Although he dropped a couple of marks Big Bazza's five goals.
Spoilers - Aker. Essendon players just ran around him. He looks very slow, and apart from about 6-7 minutes at the end - was dreadful.
Gun - Liam Picken. Does all the things you ask from a player as a minimum. Tackles, runs incredibly hard, fierce and competitive.
Money - Barry's 2 running goals at the Lockett end in the pocket.

Spoilers Aker, i am really starting to wonder if he went on one year too long.
Gun Hudson, played are absolutely superb game. Being forced to go all night against both Essendon rucks, simply because Minson was nowhere to be sighted.
Money Barry, kicked 5 & had poor delivery all night.

Spoiler - hard to split them - Aker or Higgins. Both for the most part were dreadful.
Guns - Huddo: Hard work should be his middle name. Hall - hold your head up Baz, you were one rare bright spot for us. Even with a couple of dropped marks! Picken - had a dip, ran all night.
Money - Each of Bazza's goals...
Spoilers- Aker, sadly gone on for one season to long:(
Guns- Ryan Griffen, I wish all our mids chased, harassed and ran as hard as this guy. Special effort last night and he has really one me over(wasn't much of a fan until this season).
Money- Hall, putting the ball through the goals(if only he could hold all his marks)

Spoiler: Akermanis. Badly, badly out of touch.
Guns:
Hall. He probably broke even with Fletcher, but 5 goals is 5 goals.
Hudson. Played very very well against an excellent ruck combination.
Grant. Really coming of age and showing his potential.
Money: Grant's hanger late in the game, just great to watch.

Spoiler: Minson. Looks to be really struggling outside of stoppages.
Gun: Hall had 5, but Grant's rise and rise is probably the best Builldog story of the season so far.
Hudson: We would be in serious trouble without him. Unfashionable but dependable, fierce, and never stops competing. I'd go so far as to say he is playing like our spiritual leader out there.

Spoiler: Boyd - terrible disposal and if he's following a defensive game plan then it's not a good one
Guns: Hudson worked his butt off, Griffen kept providing run even though he was clearly injured, Lake reads the ball as well as any defender going around
Money: While his game was poor, Aker's left foot pass to Hudson in the 2nd quarter was a beautiful thing. He probably should have retired after it.

Spoilers - Bad field kicking, especially Cooney running into our forward 50
Guns - Griffen, injury and all, he didn't stop.
Money - Hudson' s two goals, one disallowed due to dumb umpire not calling advantage.

Spoilers- Higgins, nearly every one of his kicks directly resulted in Essendon scores.
Guns- Hudson- 18 contested possessions is amazing, Hall- to manage to kick 5 with the kind of delivery he was getting was a great effort, Picken- worked hard and ran both ways rather standing still watching his turnover be run away for a goal (Higgins)
Money- Brian Lake showed in the 3rd quarter what it means to push back on a forward when you're caught under the ball. Maybe one day Tom Williams could watch the video of what it means to be an AFL defender!!
