Just looked at some recent history.

Many teams that have won the Premiership in recent seasons have had either a bad loss or unexpected loss late in the season.

2009 - Geelong
- Lost to Carlton round 19 by 35 pts
- Lost to Bulldogs round 21 by 14 pts

2008 - Hawthorn
- Lost to St Kilda round 16 by 30 pts
- Lost to Geelong round 17 by 11 pts
- Lost to Richmond round 20 by 29 pts

2007 - Geelong
- Lost to Port Adelaide round 21 by 5 pts

2006 - West Coast
- Lost to Collingwood Round 16 by 37 pts
- Lost to Fremantle Round 21 by 59 pts

2005 - Sydney
- Lost to Adelaide Round 18 by 7 pts

2004 - Port Adelaide
- Lost to Essendon Round 18 by 40 pts

2003 - Brisbane
- Lost to Sydney Round 20 by 14 pts

20002 - Brisbane
- Lost to Port Adelaide Round 22 by 6 pts

So in summary. The last four Premiership teams have all dropped a game in the last three rounds of the season. No 100 point thrashings but West Coast lost by 10 goals very late in the 2006 seasons.

Interestingly, the last eight Premiership teams have all lost a game in the last five rounds of the season.

No precedent for turning around 100 point beltings, but hopefully last night was an aberration (injuries, sickness etc.) and we can recover. Many recent teams have had to regroup after losses very late in the season, hopefully we can too.

This all may be true, but most or all of those teams looked good all throughout the year though...Or were in the top 2 to make or win the GF...

Or won a game against top 4 opposition.
