On you Westy for pulling the boys together. You're a star.

Past Western Bulldogs players gather to offer support

Matt Windley and Greg Davis From: Herald Sun September 10, 2010 2:30PM

AS PAST greats rallied around the club yesterday, Western Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade told critics to write his team off at their peril.
The Bulldogs go into Saturday night's do-or-die clash with Sydney at the MCG as underdogs despite finishing fourth on the ladder and earning the double chance.

But Eade said he was keeping the faith.

"We have got a belief in the group. We finished fourth for a reason," Eade said.

"Everyone has written us off but we shouldn't need the us-against-them mentality."

A large group of past players joined more than 1000 supporters for the team's final training session at Whitten Oval.

Quote from Hawkins
"I hate talking about the past, but in 1985 we got beaten by 97 points in a qualifying final, then we beat the Kangaroos the next week in a semi.

One of the worst days at the footy in my life, followed the next week by one of the best.

Really great to see, it is an area in the past that we haven't been great at and I really hope continues. Congrats Westy and Co.

They showed Westy sitting in the stands with Monty.
Why would a Melbourne coach be watching the Bulldogs play so intently:D?
