''I SLAMMED the door - hard. I wanted to smash it off its hinges. Pricks. Weak, gutless, rotten, unfair pricks.''

So begins the so-called ''tell-all'' football memoir by Jason Akermanis that he believes proved the final nail in his coffin at the Western Bulldogs and which the club privately feared could derail its 2010 finals campaign.

Haha, good on you, Caroline Wilson (for once). I've heard similar from someone else who got a copy of the book. Same old, same old, nothing new. And none of it was his fault!

Don't waste your money.

Wow, wAnker backpedals after some advice from his lawyers. Who would have thought.

If you are going to make outrageous claims Jason, at least have the balls to stand behind them:o.

I'm going to buy the book and read it for comic value.

The Bulldogs should have defeated St Kilda in last year's preliminary final but lacked the collective self-belief required to win the premiership.

If Aker got a kick we might have been a chance

Will Minson advised Akermanis to work with the homeless in a bid to win back the trust of his teammates - a suggestion Akermanis believed trivialised the plight of homeless

Tha's a lie.

Aker was told to stop writing aticles about himself and perhaps focus on other members of the team or perhaps work with the homeless and write an article about that to show that it isn't all about him.

" Akermanis writes that his four years at the Western Bulldogs were ''a waste of time'' and that the club never took full advantage of his experience as a three-time premiership player and Brownlow medallist and that in a 2007 Leading Teams survey a player commented: ''Stop telling us about Brisbane!" ".

Ha Ha, sounds like they got sick of crazy uncle Aker telling the same stories over and over.

Sounds like the book will be as weak as water. Up there with Jade Rawlings Bio 'The year I kicked 3 goals and 56 points'

He also claims Robert Walls was far too harsh on him and that Murphy writes boring columns about his dog.

Sorry, but I have to agree that sometimes the last part is possibly true.
Don't worry Bob, we love ya.:D

Each to their own of course - but I think Bob's articles are great. I enjoy his skewed, quirky look at life and football and how one is often reflected in the other. I think its good stuff.

As you said everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I also think Bob's articles are real good to read.

Can i ask if his 4 years at the Western Bulldogs were a waste of time, why did he commit for the 4th year?
He was glad to take the money though , maybe a house or two, and it was a waste of time?
Remember Aker no one else wanted you!

X 2 - At times it's "same old same old" with Murph's articles.

Off topic, anyone know why he constantly refers to "Jarvis' Mum"?? Does she not have a name?

He might have forgotten her name a few years ago and now he's too embarassed to ask.

It might be Gladys or Maude

I would prefer Jarvis Mum too.

I love Murph's columns, I'd much rather read a collection of Bob's lateral musings than the bile emanating from the goateed one.

I thought maybe he was giving her some her privacy by not putting her name in the paper each week? :)

Hahahaha....I can picture Murph (on the train?) sitting thinking "Now, we had a kid together, she's been around a while, what the hell is her name?"

Her name's Justine, I believe. A bit better than Gladys or Maude. :D
I'm sure she doesn't want her name plastered all over the paper, Murph is the public face of that family.

He also refers to the new baby as 'Jarvis' sister', so its becoming a theme!
