Anyone else attend the Recruits dinner tonight at Pound? What a good night!! And how impressive is young Mitch Wallis :) Definate captain in the making IMHO!!!!

Gotta agree with OLD SCRAGGer, he was very impressive with how he worked the room. Serious when he had to be, but no shrinking violet in the funny-man department either. Particularly liked how he made a point of getting up off the couch to start chatting with the lads from Willy as they left after training. Seemed keen to hear how they went. All bodes well without putting too much mocka on him. Go Mitch!

Could someone please let us know what was spoken about on the night?

I tried to get tickets but it was sold out; hardly surprising when considering that the venue is far too small to host the thing. The Pound is a great addition to the Kennel, but the Brains Trust in our events department must have rocks in their heads if they think it can hold sufficient numbers while offering a two course meal.

Then again, with the exception of the Hall of Fame night, the events put on by the club this year have been extremely disappointing. The Darwin Sunset dinner was the worst function in the history of the Northern Territory (including ones that took place during Cyclone Tracey) and when the doors finally opened at the Best and Fairest, the night lacked polish and the venue was wrong again.
