R 1 - Western Bulldogs vs Essendon

There are two awards that you can vote on, once the game is completed.

Voting closes each Tuesday at 8.00pm.

The first one is for the Joe Marmo Medal for the best players on the ground.

There are 4 votes allocated and it's a 4 for the best and of course 3, 2 and 1.

and

The second award is for the Ron James Medal for the best 2 pups on the ground.

2 Votes allocated - 2 being for the best pup and 1 for the runner-up
Remember the cut off age for a pup is 22 as at the 1st of January, 2011.

And on that basis, he's my BOG. Showed effort, unlike most others on the field. If they'd lost but shown some endeavour, I'd be a lot happier right now.

With Libba I think we are getting ahead of ourselves. He was good but still has an 18yo body and I doubt he kicked to the plan today.
Fell away after 1/4 time but his 1st qtr clearance work was AFL top drawer. That 30 minutes alone got me very excited.

Marmo:
4 - Hill (IMO our best player by quite a margin, excellent distribution in a sea of uncertainty and turnovers, and showed a hardness previously lacking in his game - liked this move a lot)
3 - Grant (smart, creative, hardworking, only his 1st qtr miss blotted his copybook - didn't exactly have a world of opportunities in the forward 50 today but worked extremely hard)
2 - Murphy (best of the leadership team, nothing out of the box but did at least try to be brave and take the game on - by comparison everyone else looked stuck in quicksand whenever they had the ball)
1 - Liberatore (was travelling at BOG pace in the first qtr - his clearance work was top drawer and was the main reason we were in front at 1/4 time)

Not a criticism....we all see the game differently....but surprised at your inclusion of Morris. He's had a poor pre-season form-wise and yesterdauy he looked as uncertain as I have ever seen him. No saving marks, poor disposal...he just looked out of sorts to me, considering he is one player you can be confident of playing somewhere near his best each week not unlike Cross (but don't get me started in his game yesterday:o) What did you see that i didn't?.
