R 6 - Western Bulldogs vs Collingwood

There are two awards that you can vote on, once the game is completed.

Voting closes each Tuesday at 8.00pm.


The first one is for the Joe Marmo Medal for the best players on the ground.

There are 4 votes allocated and it's a 4 for the best and of course 3, 2 and 1.

The second award is for the Ron James Medal for the best 2 pups on the ground.

2 Votes allocated - 2 being for the best pup and 1 for the runner-up
Remember the cut off age for a pup is 22 as at the 1st of January, 2011.

I think you're right that he had a very good game. But personally I marked him down because I didn't think he was up against great opposition. I considered him over Markovic for the final vote, but thought that Markovic had a more difficult role given the amount of time the ball was flying down there, and apart from one marking contest I thought he was very good.

But no doubt a great first up effort by Minnow and I'd say that the job is clearly his to lose going forward ,and for Roughy to work hard to try and get in.

Roughy doesn't play that role.

What I meant to get across, is that based on his performance today, Minson has moved ahead of Roughy, and inferring that Hudson now comes in at the expense of Roughy.
And therefore the job is now Minson's to lose as he for mine now takes Roughy's position in the 22.

4. Bob Murphy - Every time he got it he used it well and actually made something happen. He is brilliant coming off half back, but we need a Wood to come in and offer an alternative running option there as well.
3. Justin Sherman - Thought he was good around the ground and his goals got us back into the fight and gave us a legit chance at an upset. Very happy with his recruitment.
2. Liam Picken - Played really well on Thomas who didn't have an impact on the game, and offered something the other way. His goal on 3 quarter time was a ripper.
1. Villiam Minson - Was good in the ruck and around the ground. Probably offers more than Hudson in that respect. There were a few times he probably could have marked instead of spoiled but I believe we were playing under instruction to make stoppages out of 50-50's.

Youngens:
2. Liam Jones - Finally looked like that marking forward we've been hearing about. Presented well and looked more confident in a side minus Hall. Just has to take his chances in front of goal.
1. Mitch Wallis - For someone so young he has a very mature body and just does the right things. We have to keep him (and Libba) in the side because very soon they will be key members of our side.
