Former Richmond president Clinton Casey has bought Ricky Nixon's Flying Start business for close to $900,000.
To be renamed Phoenix Management, it will be run by former Essendon player and one-time Nixon client Scott Lucas and Western Bulldogs 300-gamer Rohan Smith.
Smith heads VSquad, the development academy for 12, 13 and 14-year-olds that began under Nixon's umbrella last year.
Effectively sold to Casey and co were VSquad and the rights to any player who wants to go to the new company.
It's believed Phoenix will target Nixon's young stable of stars - Richmond's Dustin Martin and Jack Riewoldt, Western Bulldog Easton Wood, Essendon's David Zaharakis and Fremantle's Jayden Pitt - to stay and build the new company.
It's not known whether Nixon's long-time No.1 client, St Kilda skipper Nick Riewoldt, will join Phoenix, though indications were not positive.
Nixon had also hoped to sign three of the 20 top-rated youngsters ahead of the 2011 national draft. They will be pursued by Phoenix.
Casey, who heads a group of up to five investors, could not be contacted. Nixon also refused to answer calls.
Nixon, 47, was stripped of his management licence after an investigation found he had a sexual relationship with the "St Kilda schoolgirl". Nixon has denied the allegation.
Nixon cleaned out his Docklands office last week and is believed to have used friend Sam Newman's warehouse to store signed sports memorabilia worth several hundred thousand dollars.
He won't work in football again, but has indicated he will work in the health education area.

Health education? Or re-education? Am sure Ricky knows a thing or two about a clean healthy lifestyle ;-)

Off topic, but why isn't Smith on Fox Footy this year? Was he dumped in a direct swap for Johnno?

He wasn't dumped, simply resigned to take the role with Nixon before the shite hit the fan.

He's back!?!?!?
Banned AFL player agent Ricky Nixon plans to offer a unique and free service to each player in the league.
Nixon, who has gone into partnership in Standout Management, says he will offer all players a free analysis on their contract and an analysis of the performance of their management.
"This will put the cat among the pigeons," he predicted at Crown Oaks Day on Thursday.
The AFL Players' Association stripped Nixon of his player management accreditation in March because of his involvement with the "St Kilda schoolgirl" Kim Duthie.
But Nixon said he still planned to handle player contracts - and at a cut rate.
He said his new management company would employ an accredited player agent who would sign the contracts.
Nixon, who was forced to sell his Flying Start management company after losing his accreditation, said he planned to offer a service of just "doing" a player's contract, rather than managing them as well.
"A lot of players are saying they just want an expert to come in and do their footy contract," he said.
"And I'm saying I will charge the player a third of what every other manager is charging them."
Nixon said he had already had approaches from three top young players wanting him to just do their contracts.
He said the heads of some other management companies did not have AFL player agent accreditation.
Nixon predicted Standout Management would have up to 20 of the AFL's top players on their books within 12 months.
He said it had already attracted rugby league and football players.

Spotted Nixon last night at one of our clubs.
He pranced in (Dermie style) was fondling a girl young enough to be his grand daughter.
Left after a few boys from our footy club were laughing at the old Rex.
He really hasn't learnt a thing and if I had any doubts about his caricature he sealed it with his behaviour last night.

Is the local team Sth Bendigo?
If so, there was a story on the news about him supposedly supporting a female footballer who was paralyzed during a game.

Nixon was a Golden Square Bulldogs footballer (Blue and Gold) and a very good one.
North Bendigo were the red, white and blue Bulldogs but typically were in a lower competition.

Can't blame Ricky for that. He's a romantic and wanted to propose in front of all her family and friends but this was the only place they would all be in at the same time. :p
