THE Western Bulldogs' bid to sustain a pulse in their stop-start season has suffered a critical blow, with playmaking defender Bob Murphy to miss Saturday's must-win game against Sydney with a groin injury.

The 29-year-old strained an adductor muscle in last Sunday's loss to North Melbourne, and while the Bulldogs are confident he will be fit to return against West Coast in round 19, they will tackle the Swans in the demanding confines of the SCG without their most dangerous ball user.

Wasn't happy to read this, although I guess it gives someone else a chance...... have to try and look at the positives!

I wonder if he will miss the next two games plus the bye to fully recover.

I thought I saw him grab at his shorts late in the game on Sunday, though he ran it out so I didn't give it a 2nd thought.

Dang. Makes the trip all the more tough

Should be able to cover the loss on the smaller ground, especially considering the Swans stoppage game style. Hopefully our bigger insiders can force territory. We will miss his run, that's our best user and and with Sherman as well two outsiders we will miss.
