Re: Membership 2017 - Target 50,000
I went overseas for two years a few years back, re-joined once I got back, but then moved home a few times in the ensuing years. All I did was front up and provide my name and address when I signed each year, but I think the club then considered me a new person.
That als had me worried when the club claimed it had a database of 60,000 odd members if all the latent ones re- signed.... I remember thinking, "geez, I reckon I'm four or five of those people!"
Anyway, I've been a member for years, but am only counted since my last house move. I didn't realise it was all that important until embroidered scarves and GF ticket algorithms started coming into play! Still can't be bothered asking the club to audit and amalgamate the four or five me's!
Re: Membership 2017 - Target 50,000
I have had continuous membership since 1974 as indicated on my card. It includes 7 years I was living and working in Asia - I kept the membership up to help the club and belong to a club.
I don't see the membership as a ticket to go to a game. I see membership as just that being a member of a club.

Good effort BAD. I'm 28 years next year. 89 kicked me in the arse.

Re: Membership 2017 - Target 50,000
Snippet From The Hun: Western Bulldogs currently 30,000 members
Fresh off last season’s flag heroics, the Dogs are eager for more success in 2017. For the first time in the club’s history, the Western Bulldogs have reached the 30,000 member mark before Christmas. The club has enjoyed a 16 per cent increase on reserved seat members and a 42 per cent increase on social club memberships from this time last year (sold out).
Re: Membership 2017 - Target 50,000
So:
30,000 members - new pre-Christmas club record
33% up across all memberships
16% up in added on reserved seat members
42% up on added on social club members (sold out, with a waiting list)
Ballarat Memberships just released

I can remember when the only 24 convenience store in Victoria was in Ballarat. It was very convenient driving from Melbourne to Ballarat to get a packet of smokes and a slurpee at 3am.

We were a tad under 24,000 at this point last year and a tad under 20,000 this time the year before. So over 32,000 this year is an enormous leap. Looking okay!

Yes in that case we are travelling very well as you would expect after our recent success.

Is it all accurate Firstdog?
