I wouldn't be surprised if we try and nab another undervalued player who has spent a couple of years in the system, like Hamling and Biggs.
Someone like Harry Dear would fit the profile well. Big, Victorian and when he was drafted was a ruck/key forward.
I like the idea of Dear, at 20yrs old he's had a couple of years in the system, best football a few years away, would be a solid back up fits and fits into Bevo's philosophy of not being a one position player.
Another father son from another club fits nicely also.:)
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
Obviously the trade period will dictate what we do with list numbers.
For me at this stage:
OUT: Will Minson, Nathan Hrovat, Koby Stevens, Matthew Boyd - I would also try and see what we could get for Mitch Honeychurch.
For me the last spot appears to between Josh Prudden and Matthew Boyd.
I really want to keep Josh Prudden on the list. He is a good size, uses the ball well and seems of good character. Such a shame his knee injury occurred when it did - I clearly thought he would have played a lot of senior footy on 2016 if not for the injury.
Matthew Boyd has had his best season in a long time and was duly rewarded with a premiership medal, best team player and All Australian honours. However he is 34, going on 35. You are a long time retired and I get that, but I think the time is right for Boyd to retire. I'm sure he could play next season, but could he cope with playing VFL footy? I think that could be a real possibility especially with Bailey Williams, Roarke Smith, Zaine Cordy and Brad Lynch all developing at the rate of knots.
That is potentially five changes to our list.
Joel Hamming is a must sign.

I cant agree with this :- "Matthew Boyd has had his best season in a long time and was duly rewarded with a premiership medal, best team player and All Australian honours. People wanted him out in 2016 and what happened - another elite year, another All-Australian selection. I would have no hesitation in contracting him if he wanted it.
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
Hamling finished the season well. He got his chance though because Adams went down and Collins got injured. As much as in would like to keep Hamling, if we got a decent offer from Freo I would look to facilitate. Right now it would be at least an early 2nd round pick. I think he is going to struggle again next year unless we have injuries

I was never a believer that Collins was ahead of Hamling and now I think Hamling is ahead of Roberts.
If we are only going to use minimal picks this year what could Freo give us that would make it worthwhile?
Could we get them to part with Michael Apeness? Apeness has been dealt a number of injuries and would need a change of luck

Apeness recontracted about 7 weeks ago. Would be interesting for them to ask him to consider a trade now.

A lot can change especially with Freo's interest in Hamling and a couple of other players.

I quite like Apeness don't get me wrong, just the timing is a little unusual. But if they're offering 3 years of over $500,000, then they have to offer up something of quality.

I doubt it will be a player like Fyfe though. If they trade someone like Apeness then they can probably use picks to acquire some of their other (many) needs. They look like dealing pick 3 with GWS for Cam McCarthy and obviously some picks coming back to them.
It's a long shot but we might be able to move up the order if we offered our 2nd round pick and Hamling for an earlier pick.
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
Pick 3 being used for Cam McCarthy in any way is daylight robbery by GWS.
Even if GWS give back pick 7 in return, it means they get a great pick in the 'open draft' and can use later picks to match academy bids. If they get pick 3, it is a massive rort of the system.

GWS are the quintessential rort of the system. As for our minimum 4 delistings (with Cloke), with Quayle stating Freo expect Hamling to stay:
Minson, Prudden, Stevens & Hrovat/Boyd/Honeychurch
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
Loosing Hrovat for what will probably be a 3rd round pick isnt great value given his upside
Finding it tough to get into the team plus his run of injuries
However talk is that he'll land at Carlton so like Jones, Everitt and Tutt it may work in our favour.
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
I wouldn't mind have a crack at James Stewart he wouldn't cost the world either. I guess with Cloke coming in and Crameri back, he would properly looking at a Club he can play straight away which may go against us.
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
Is it just me or is SOS lacking ideas at Carlton? Is it possible to win a flag with a team full of GWS rejects? If they do, and no doubt GWS will, it will be amazing to look back at the original list GWS had.

You would have to assume, it is because he has an intimate knowledge of these players after helping to build GWS list. I think any team would be happy to add Marchbank and Stewart to their list, it is just Carlton have the leverage to be able to do it.
