Duryea offered one-match suspension
Taylor Duryea has been offered a one-match suspension by the Match Review Officer for rough conduct in Sunday’s loss against the West Coast Eagles.
Duryea was cited for an incident involving Jamie Cripps during the fourth quarter at Marvel Stadium.
The incident was assessed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a one-match sanction for the Bulldogs defender.
I’d say that’s the end of his career, but no doubt we sign him for another year or two.

Injured Eagle Elliot Yeo is also facing a one-match suspension for rough conduct against Jackson Macrae.
That was behind the play and the reason Macrae was subbed off

"Taylor Duryea is expected to get another one-year deal after 20 solid games as a lock-down defender."
Bulldogs to challenge Duryea ban
The Western Bulldogs have decided to challenge the one-game suspension offered by the Match Review Officer to defender Taylor Duryea.
Duryea was handed the ban for rough conduct during the fourth quarter of Sunday?s loss against the West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium.
The incident was assessed as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
Duryea was the first Bulldogs player to be charged with a game-related sanction by the MRO in the 2023 season to date.
The AFL Tribunal will sit tonight (Tuesday, August 22), with the hearing involving Duryea scheduled for 6.30pm.

Worth challenging. Not much to lose and it's a line-ball report.
McCartin cleared after knocking out a bloke when he chose to bump.
Let's see what happens to Doc after he barely touched the bloke and no medical damage.
Once more we have been dudded by AFL tribunal. This is a joke

Gosh, I remember that one. He didn't even give away a free and he's suspended? McCartin caves someone's face in and gets off. I don't really care at this stage but good to see the Swannies get away with another one.
Better give doc another year so he gets a farewell match...
Richmond vfl player Tyler Sonsie only got three weeks for the punch to his opponents jaw off the ball.
Crazy crazy world the afl lives in

It's the Jack Redpath syndrome and anything that red, white and blue.
I’m still bitter about Todd Curley.
And Redpath.
While I agree that it would now be a suspension, it wasn't a lot different to the incident this year with Van Rooyen. Van Rooyed got off on appeal.
If we compare Chris Grant with the incident where Chris Judd broke the jaw of (I think) Pavlich and GOT OFF to get the Brownlow we know easily which incident most deserved a suspension.
Maynard sent straight to tribunal apparently from the AFEL GM charging him. Minimum three weeks if guilty. So season over if guilty.
Van rooyen gets one week.
Hopefully someone who doesn't accept or excuse violence, or someone who isn't an apologist for bullshit acts.
Maynard didn't have to ball up and make it count. There were ways he could have protected himself without concussing his opponent.
He only had one thing on his mind when he missed that smother, and that was inflicting maximum impact.
