Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
Can anyone believe the Pies gave Mayne a 4 year deal? Surely its a mistake?
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
From afl.com.au
A source close to Deledio on Wednesday night said there was no truth to rumours the midfielder was interested in joining the Western Bulldogs and the Cats remained his preferred destination.

Don't know. He seemed pretty confident. Maybe tonight's source is the Geelong list manager?
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
Stevo tweeting Lids issue is $$$ for Dogs.
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
So we aren't prepared to pay overs to get him - good.

Don't see how Geelong can squeeze him in then unless they can offload Motlop's 600k contract.

Vardy, Kersten and Caddy potentially out.
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
I realise trade week gets the juices going, however we're AFL Premiers with quality players Murphy, Redpath, Crameri, Adams Wallis and Campbell to come into our side.
In addition, we have the extremely talented Dale, Webb and Williams pushing for regular senior footy in the coming year, whilst it seems Cloke is on his way in.
Finally, we have several AAA grade players who will need to be contractually upgraded/rewarded in the upcoming couple of years. These include Libba, Bont, Stringer, Macrae, Dahlhaus, Johannisen, Roughead etc.
We're under threat of losing the potentially fantastic Hamling... Meanwhile, Scott Dalrymple is in prodigious drafting form.
So here's a thought: we forget about trading players in, and simply trade out the Stevens, Honeychurches and Hrovats for decent picks and let Dalrymple take them to the well.
We then have 2-3 high level young talents come onto our list on smaller development level coin and spend the next year or two shoring up our high end talent on solid contracts. This way, we turn a 4 year premiership window into a 6-7 year window. In addition, we stick to that strategy and position ourselves to be a perennial premiership contender-cum-powerhouse.
The thing we've done is turn our entire list into finals hardened, experienced premiership players. There's no real need to obsess over bringing in experience. We simply need to stay disciplined and keep investing in the next generation.
I'm sure our list management are switched onto this. We're wonderfully positioned. Happy days!
Re: The Moving Rolling De-Listing/Trading Thread 2016
Hamling offered $1.2 million over 3 years - hard to knock back.
I wonder what offer we have on the table?

Caddy out would help, the other 2 would be on very little you would think. They surely can't fit Tuohy in as well as Deledio.

I'd guess originally it was 2 years at $300,000 (average wage). So I think we started at $600,000 and they're at double, $1,200,000. If correct, I can see why he wants to bridge the gap. His manager also said he wants to talk to Bevo about his plans to play him next year, ie opportunity.

Go back 4 or so pages in this thread to yesterday - I posted pretty much what you have above and we had the discussion. ;)
I know it's hard to keep up in silly season.
