Re: 2018 AFL -Trade Rumours and Discussion
I think the reality is that the footy department think we're a few more years away from finals than many of us here (myself included) thought we were.
As GVG said, 2019 looks another year of fast tracking our kids - that's a tough story to sell memberships on so soon after success.
Re: 2018 AFL -Trade Rumours and Discussion
3 way deal between Collingwood, Brisbane and us that will have Beams and Roughead heading to Collingwood and Adams to Brisbane plus a number of draft pick exchanges being discussed.
Can we send in Doc and BT to give it all the once over? They'd add some value no doubt
Re: 2018 AFL -Trade Rumours and Discussion
Hope we dont get bent over.

So Adams, Rough, Dahl, Biggs, Clay, Red OUT and only Lloyd, Duryea, Lynch and Gowers in. What do you think any chance for a late play utilising the Dahl or Adams pic on a player?

It's late in proceedings to be identifying a player but a packaged deal of draft picks can be traded for other picks over the next 5 weeks
Are there any players that have been mentioned even in passing?

Big test for Power.
Re: 2018 AFL -Trade Rumours and Discussion
From memory we pulled off the last trade in 2017 that nabbed us Schache. Could we do something similar this year?
More than 90 minutes to go

And the clubs committee. It's not just on Sam Power

I mentioned trying to get in the middle of them earlier in the day. But I just can't see us getting more than the individual offers. Roughead is almost a DFA his value is so small. The way I can only see value is if we donate Collingwood Adams for use in a trade for their future second rounder, which could be 40. Which means a 30's pick this year might be better, unless we think we need points next year too. Or hold on Adams unless they offer a 20's drafted player like Cedric Cox. Not a lot of great options.

The only one was that we were apparently interested in Atkins mid year but it was only on BF. Obviously we have missed with Chad and potentially May but surely we are having a crack at someone else that hasn't emerged considering we look even younger next year.

We'll give up 2 players for a pick in the 30s and 1 in the 50s. Bookmark it.

No way Collingwood give us pick 57. They could have taken him as a free agent and sacrificed that compo pick 57. My safest bet of the night, it's a swap of just 6 spots in the draft order. Barely more than delisting him outright.

Even better.
Re: 2018 AFL -Trade Rumours and Discussion
Why do I get the same feeling waiting out the final moments of this trade period as I do watching Dahlhaus begin his set shot routine?
There must be word that neatly splits the difference between resignation and dread.
