Weren't we rumored to be into Melican before he signed his last contract?

I think there was some speculation about us being interested in him.
Swans have tended to back both McCartin's and Blakey and then LLoyd, Rampe and Fox so Melican has been squeezed out.

So once again when an old Geelong star is finally on their last legs they find some early 20s player ready made to replace them. Infuriating.

    summarised,

Brad Hill open to a move

Lewis Mellican - Swans key defender, open to a move

    Billy Frampton - Collingwood keen

Breust & Gunston - could be on the move

Will Gould - not much interest

Miles Bergman - can't see him moving

Tarranto - Richmond leading the chase

    Hopper - Geelong likely
Hopper to Geelong is a great get for them if it happens.

Free agency for the top tier of players has only benefited a few of the bigger clubs.

Should we be looking at Frampton? Is he any good?

He was in very good form early in the year and I thought he played well against us at the Ballarat game but once he was dropped he hasn't really gone close to a return. Seems to have settled as a defender but can even pinch hit in the ruck.
Collingwood might see him as a Roughead replacement.

    To do what?

We're getting Lobb and Jones. I'd rather draft a tall.

What type of a character is Brad Hill? Off to another club.

Apparently off field he is extremely loose.

sure it is but I'd rather draft one. He doesn't have to be 200cm. He just has to be good.

He won't be going anywhere unless St Kilda kick in a significant portion of the $900K a year he is due for the next 2 seasons.

Considering he did a Tim O'Brien to us in Ballarat this year and intercepted everything I thought we would be all over him.

Frampton got dropped a couple of weeks after that performance and never got another look in.
You would have to think it's something other than just form for him to have not played in the 2nd half of the season.
