Re: Welcome to the Western Bulldogs Rory Lobb
Lobb's ankle was heavily iced last night at full time. Hopefully he doesn't have too long on the sidelines.

Yeah. Didn't finish the game. Started the 2nd half but didn't last long.

Gotta feeling this is going to be an expensive mistake.

Hey did you know he has two more years to go!? Masterstroke... at least if English or JUH leave at the end of the year, we've still got tall coverage in Rory.

Re: Welcome to the Western Bulldogs Rory Lobb
How likely is he going to be our no.1 ruck next year?

Probably the only chance he has of still being with us next year.
Been a big fail.

Re: Welcome to the Western Bulldogs Rory Lobb
We needed a second ruck, but should have thought about Darcy, Croft coming through.
Sweet 2023 playing with English would have worked, and Sweets trade value would have increased. Yeah Sweet not good around the ground, one year playing in the best 22, would have been better than Lobb's efforts

Re: Welcome to the Western Bulldogs Rory Lobb
We wanted English to win AA and we were never going to play Sweet as no.1.

It's magnanimous of you to phrase this like there's still a chance it might not be.

At the time I was quite happy that Lobb was coming, it did match our needs at the time. When the deal went through and we gave up 2*2nd Rounders that led to disappointment. I still think we can get the most out of Lobb in the ruck. I'd be quite comfortable letting English walk and have him #1 with Darcy baking up. If that is not going to happen we have a very expensive VFL player until the end of 2026.

We got Lobb a year later than ideal and it is complicated just a bit that Darcy has come on a year quicker than expected. I know he didn't play that well last night but I remain confident that he's a good one to have on the list.
I'd be happy to keep him at the club.
