Re: Injury List 2024
Gardner must have broken his arm in to bits. It?ll be like 16 week lay off for a broken arm when his back. Seems like a very long time for a broken arm.
Also unfortunate as he was playing some pretty good footy at vfl level.

He didn't break anything, this from Chris Bell in his injury report at the time:
“Ryan innocuously punched a footy which ruptured a key structural ligament in his wrist,” Bell said.
"This injury will not heal with conservative management, with Ryan needing surgery to reconstruct the damaged ligament.
“We will confirm Ryan’s rehab plan following the surgery but expect him to miss at least the next three months. “

Wrists are complicated, if someone goes wrong during recovery then it's a massive setback. There are a couple of wrestlers that I enjoy who are out with wrist injuries, one of them broke it about a year ago and was supposed to return in January but the surgery just didn't take and he's still not back.

Talked to him today, the pins in his hand come out next week. He's one of the most friendliest players a real nice bloke.

Deep Heat Medical Room | Round 17
Defender Taylor Duryea remains a test ahead of Saturday's clash against Port Adelaide.
Taylor Duryea remains a test ahead of a clash against Port Adelaide this Saturday afternoon.
The small defender was subbed out of the match against the Kangaroos with foot soreness, but scans have revealed no major damage.
"In the second quarter of the AFL game, Taylor Duryea was involved in a contest where his foot was caught in the ground and twisted,” Head of Sports Medicine, Chris Bell said.
“He was able to continue playing into the third, but due to his foot having some persistent symptoms, we made a conservative call and substituted him out of the game.
“Scans have since cleared him of any serious structural damage.
“We will work through a process with Taylor this week to determine his availability this weekend.”
Alex Keath and Jason Johannisen remain a fortnight away with hamstring injuries.
Doc - test
JJ - 2 weeks
Keath - 2-3 weeks
Gards - 7-9 weeks

Why you gotta go and say something like that? If there's a training injury this week I'm blaming you!

That has to be the smallest injury list ever at this time of the season.
Well done to the medical, fitness staff and of course Lady Luck.
Strange to have more problems with picking a team than injuries with us over the years.
