Tribunal is so broken. Players get suspended based on the result, not intent, but then if they appeal it gets assessed on intent and not the result.
AFEL are playing 4D chess with all of us. We are endlessly talking about the state of the tribunal and the umpiring/rule interpretations, so no other sport gets any meaningful media or air time. Dills, Kaney and the rest of the executive team will all collect their massive annual bonuses while we all continue to shill out for our club memberships, which directly benefit the AFEL and the executive.

You cannot be this utterly incompetent at managing the basic fundamentals of the actual game without it being a deliberate strategy.

    Re: Tribunal / suspensions 2024

Only if Aaron Naughton was Nick Daicos would that be reportable.

The arm is clearly raised to stop a run from Naughton, though according to Kane it is Naughton's fault the Port defender raised his arm to head height.

Naughton may have been a little lower than usual, though it's not his fault the opponent threw the arm out.

I wouldn't suspend the Port player, though I'd be thinking it might be time for a warning to go out to the clubs that defenders have a responsibility not to swing arms out to stop forwards at head height.

And he'll probably get off, but he shouldn't, you can't just swing your arm back and clock a bloke on the nose enough to bleed and get off, but we'll see.

I'd suggest that Heeney will get off. I think I can see both reasons for the suspension and why there is a chance he could get off.

The AFL have given him an out by saying it was intentional.

Webster slipped - so the Swans will argue it was CARELESS and he did not INTENTIONALLY make high contact. And he will WIN on those grounds...
