From a biz perspective, getting someone in for $1 then hammering them with follow up emails, sms, retargeting ads etc isn?t a bad idea.

Obviously giving membership numbers is better than giving money made on membership.

Some of our supporters have a moan every year when we do those SEN days with membership deals. I guess they don?t know how Carlton have retained support for so long (ignoring the other advantages they get).

For two years straight they were providing buy 1 get 1 free membership deals.

Not a bad idea to get members to recruit their casual friends on board, it?s a plus if the team performs well in that time and retains them.

I assume it's the same for 2024:

Cut off for 2023 membership is August 31, with the clubs and the AFL to announce total and final numbers in September.

I saw something on X saying we only had 250 to go to crack 60k. I suspect they will want to announce it at the Legends function tomorrow night
