Bankers & Anchors: Rnd 22, 2024, vs Adelaide

This is the Round 22, 2024 edition of the weekly Bankers and Anchors thread. Once this afternoon's game against Adelaide has concluded post your nominations for:

The Bankers = 3 guys/aspects of the game that we banked on to do the right thing during the game
The Anchors = 3 guys/aspects of the game that weighed us down by their errors or poor play

Please limit it to no more than three of each player or aspect of the game, but feel free to make honourable/dishonourable mentions. As usual try to make it constructive criticism.

Try and restrict it to individual players rather than aspects of the overall match - I will allow more freedom now as the thread seems to be going down more of the aspects of the game path so you can have 3 for each made up of aspects of the game and individual players.

The thread is named in honour of a popular WOOF Contributor, The Banker, who passed away on 22/04/2012 after a six month battle with cancer.

    B

    Nothing good to say

    A

Me. Believing this group turned a corner, again.
Losing to GWS probably means no finals. Then what with Bevo?
    Just shit.

    Bankers
Virgin airlines for getting the revenue for flying this indifferent uninspiring group to and from Adelaide.

    Anchors
This crap dished up happens towards the end of every year - Eagles at Marvel - Hawks in Tasmania.
Our 2nd raters are exactly that and have been overrated by supporters, they are average.
Goalkicking, our inaccuracy is often simply incompetent and costly.

    Bankers

    1. McNeil - that left foot pass from 50m to hit up (?) was brilliant work

    2. Darcy. He is coming along nicely - needs to nail his shots

    3. Lobb continues to do well in the backline

    Anchors

    1. The whole team for not showing up when we had a chance for top 4

    2. Darcy - For the missed set shots

    3. HTB - umps have reverted back to allowing the player longer than they should to get rid of it - so biased towards Adelaide - pathetic

    Bankers

    1. McNeil has a future if he can continue nailing his moments. That kick was a thing of beauty on a dirty day. Probably his best game ever.

Geez, hard to think of 2 more

    2. Darcy?s marking was good

    3. Caleb did his job as sub, I like him in that role.

    Anchors

    Take your pick?

    1. English. Uncompetitive

    2. Buku. He can?t play next week, surely? Does any other defender get caught facing the wrong way more than him?

    3. Midfield. Just got torched. Stoppage, open play. Adelaide made them look slow and soft. So many missed tackles, shit chase downs. Richards had his worst game of the year by far.

    Bankers:

    Hmm. Not sure.
McNeil - probably one of his better games for the club.
Caleb - came on and got 15 possessions and was creative.
Bont - kept trying to make it happen.

    Anchors:

Buku & Doc - so down all day. Both really struggled.
Missed tackles & Fumbling - hard to watch.
English - absolutely monstered by O'Brien
