24 years old, pick 22, played 19 games this year. Doesn't scream delisting candidate.

    Good news!

Melbourne defender Adam Tomlinson has caught Collingwood's attention.

Screams that they’ll try to drive a hard bargain.

Don't get the angst about chasing XOH. He comes from an elite coaching and development system at GWS and fills a glaring need for us as a pressure forward, a role in which he played 19 games for a top 4 team this year (he barely plays any midfield minutes for GWS).

Poulter and Baker are specialist wingmen, and Garcia is an inside mid - these comparisons to XOH are apples and oranges.

Could we be willing to offer a good pick to GWS for both Peatling and O'Halloran? Or is XOH the back up if we miss on Peatling?

If we are spitballing with no real knowledge, are they good mates? They’re a month a part in age. Is like a Taranto/Hopper double trade type thing?

It's not the norm to target two players from one side but GWS have a lot of challenges with their salary cap so it's opened the door.
I think our apparent interest in both players is around their age profile and the likeliness that getting Houston is a bit of a long shot.
Both are versatile type. Peatling is more of a genuine midfielder, XOH perhaps a winger and flanker.
Assuming we lose Macrae and/or Garcia then Peatling makes some sense. We might have XOH in mind to play on a wing.

How many wingers are we going to have on the list? It’s getting a little crazy. But I suppose if he can actually play the role we might free up some list spots next year.

There will be a cull of wingers at the end of next season. We've struggled to find someone to partner Williams. I can't blame the club for trying Baker, Poulter and the likes of Scott but they need to sharply lift their performances or reinvent themselves in other positions quickly.

You can add Caleb Daniel to the potential outs. North are desperate for experienced solid citizens and Daniel certainly fits that bill. It would also allow them to move McKercher to partner with Sheezel in the midfield.

I thought XOH is more a HFF/Mid than a winger

If we were to lose Daniel then both players make a lot more sense. Daniel still has a lot to offer and that might be a good move by them.

That's where he has mainly played but his performances in those roles hasn't really worked at GWS. Just throwing it out there that if our interest is genuine, then we probably have a clear role in mind for him.

He's an inside midfielder that's been largely pushed to high half forward much like we have done with our excess mids. Don't think he's ever played wing.

I wonder if that happens if we can’t play some hard ball. Sort of. Their Pick 22 for CD & F2. In effect a smallish upgrade, but a good one.

Trade 32, 43 (Jack) & 44 for 17-18 from Brisbane (300+ points surplus to them)

    BS first & F1.

    Dogs: (before shuffling) Picks 15, 17-18 & 22.

Trading for players incoming, from maybe pick for Garcia and the F1 (Geelong) & F3, F4. Using our salary cap to target free agents next year.
