If we are looking for a hard running defensive mid, Finn McGuiness from Hawthorn is apparently gettable.

He got dropped back to the VFL side a few times this year including one longer stint. I think we could find a spot for him if he is actually available.

Apparently with what they need to give up for Barrass, they are open to moving him on to get some draft presence back. Apparently Serong & Reeves on the same list of guys they could trade.

They'll get some suitors. Just saw that Essendon are into Finn Maginness and he would be a good fit for them. Given our success with Bramble I'd be open to bringing in Hawks players if they fit a need. He's in a good age range as well.

Stuff going for fringe guys that they are happy to lose. If they want to go for big recruits they should lose some guys out the bottom too. Can't let them have their cake and eat it too.

Connor MacDonald would be great. A pacy half forward who is actually good and clever. Kind of Gryan Miers like imo in his ability to create.

Otherwise both Josh Ward and Cam McKenzie are high draft pick mids who aren't slow (not super quick though) who despite playing a lot of games haven't really improved their value in 2 or so seasons.
I should leave it alone but you're not right

Is he what we thought Harmes would be?

Probably without the goals. His best tagging is sublime, just blunts any oppo. From memory he even did a job off HB of Dale a couple of years ago. There’s apparently a handful of clubs chasing, I’m hoping we are among them.

MacDonald is the one we should try for. Unbelievably talented, quick, skilful, runs both ways.

There's a guy playing WAFL (Swans) who is an unbelievable tagger. Simply brilliant at taking a player out of a game.

I have said a few times that an AFL club THAT USES A TAGGER should give him a rookie deal to see what happens...we are not one of those clubs because we NEVER use a tagger.

Why in the name of all that is holy would we recruit Finn McGuinness??
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Hoping Bevo has a change of heart more than anything. It’d be nice to have a player that can stop (insert players name) getting 15-20 possessions a quarter. I’m sick of the same thing month in, month out. Season in, season out. I’ve advocated trading another first ruck too to compete with Tim. Doubt we will do that either. This is the hill we are dying on, I know.

    Re: Trade Rumours 2024

    From Jon Ralph. Source: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...91c536082c?amp

St Kilda is unwilling to part with its No. 43 draft pick for Jackson Macrae, hopeful of securing the triple All Australian with a back-end pick.

St Kilda is prepared to absorb the huge salary he is owed in the next three years – which is above $800,000 in the next two seasons.

Macrae and his management are prepared to drive a hard bargain on a trade as he moves to St Kilda, which is desperate to keep picks seven, 24 and 43 plus a Josh Battle compensation pick.

They will offer a third or fourth-round pick for Macrae, the player of the 2021 finals series.

They will likely offer a mid-draft future pick for Ivan Soldo, and could end up trading their future second pick with the Power’s future third pick.

The Power paid the world for Soldo when he left Richmond.

But the trade value of mid-tier rucks is usually about pick 40-50 and he is due around $500,000 for each of the next two seasons, so they would let him go given Dante Visentini is a solid back-up.

The Power will secure Gold Coast’s Jack Lukosius on a deal rival contender Adelaide believes is seven years at $1 million a season.

They did the same dance with Coffield (and Dow). Ended up backing down on both. Happy to keep Macrae unless we need to offload his salary

Completely agree but there’s just no way they let him go. On top of everything you said he’s also secretly the coolest of that crew of young shitheads they’ve put together.

    Won’t offer Pick 43.
Will offer 3rd (or 4th) round pick.

Pick 43 (Pick 46 after at least 3 compo picks for Battle, Cumming & Perryman added) IS a third round pick.

    What? Make it make sense.

That’s what I was thinking too. In what world is 43 considered a second round pick?

The salary factor is a compelling one. I’m sure it helps us with any recruitment we have in the pipeline along with a few top tier players coming out of contract in 2025 (from what information I can gather on contracts).

Weird Jack wants to go to Saints but I guess they’re offering him midfield starting time and probably not many others are.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?
