Not sure he surpasses Dean Cox for consistency over the journey? Very good player though. He’s also benefited (like Cox) in having a very good midfield around him which helps make him look better at times. His overhead ability and adjustment he’s seemingly made to his body to improve his running and durability has been excellent.
I remember seeing Cox in his rookie year, I think we were at Optus oval against them. He was awful and I told him over the fence in the pocket how bad he was. He turned out to be the best ruckman I have seen play the game.

No love for Scott Wynd? i used to love the way he would float back and repell almost every attack. his brownlow year was incredible.

Salman is in the Team of the Century at two clubs.
That doesn't just make him a ruck great, but one of the great players of all time in general.
Very hard to compare from different eras - e.g. Polly Farmer revolutionized the game, was the best in his day and also had to put up with horrific abuse his entire career.

Dempsey in a golden era of rucks was a better ruck than Gawn vs very few now.
