Sydney list boss Mark Keane confirmed that Konstanty would stay on the uncontracted list until the club knows more about how its list will shape up, following the trade period.
The uncapped Swan was taken with pick 20 in the 2022 draft and has played as a pressure forward.
In his 12 VFL games this year, he kicked 14 goals.
Clubs like Essendon, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide and West Coast are in the market for small forward help.
If he doesn’t earn a new contract from Sydney, he could enter the market as a delisted free agent and sign with a club for free.
“It’s a tricky time of year with uncontracted players I think and certainly we have a few in that boat and a lot of clubs do to be fair,” Keane told Trade Radio.
“We will just wait and see where the dust settles on trade period and then we will have a bit more clarity in our list to make a decision.”
Probably the best available from he, McHeney, Taylor & Jones on talent. Just need to get him fit and see what he can do. I’m in the interested camp in this one.

Re: Trade Rumours 2024
Surely Geelong can offer more than pick 17, when they also have 38, 56, 74 or whatever they become.
Are these later picks any good to us?

They can offer more, they don't want to because they want to get Smith on the cheap. That's why they have some in the media 'working the room' to condition supporters that they are offering enough and that we are screwed too the wall.

I have never wanted to blow up a trade more than this one.

Always yes. We can trade up a little as well, a club like Essendon (who need to match a bid for Kako) would trade for a points surplus

Are there any players being mentioned as potential trades that would be of interest for us?

Out of the names above I guess McHenry has some appeal but his kicking skills aren't great.
MacPherson was delisted by GCS despite a a good 2023 season and some solid form in the VFL this year.
Given the way some teams have multiple small forwards would a smaller experienced defender be someone we could consider?

That all depends. I’m of the mind that either of VDM or McNeil might be better off at HB. They have pressure and speed but don’t kick goals. If we make that move then it’s less imperative. Then say look at Konstanty to move forward. Or maybe look at one of each (small forward and defender). It seems any players coming will be cheap or DFAs, so we are going to need to pan for gold again like Bramble.

I don't mind the suggestions and maybe McNeil makes a bit more sense. He's always fit and the pace and tackling efforts that could add some value. He seems to have the yiips in front of goal but his field kicking is a bit better.
Konstanty hasn't done much from my perspective and would be a speculative punt. If we are sticking with Clarke and probably don't need him.

Konstanty is less speculative than AOD and Rypstra who are both gone this year. I’d give him a try myself.

Not sure McNeil or VDM kick it well enough to play down back. Plus VDM (and Garcia) tends to over play situations and give away silly free kicks

McNeil doesn't seem a bad kick tbh. I've been surprised with some of the passes he's pulled off. IDK if he has the strength of a Dureya to hold the spot down or the ball reading of a Boyd but I don't think it's a bad idea.
I guess my main concern would be his composure. Might be the type to panic under pressure and give up a goal

My guess is McNeil has the yips near the goals but should be better with his field kicks. Worth a try over the preseason

I thought he rotated through there at different stages.
