Fairs fair. Tim English is far too timid and with his concussion history recruiting another ruck who is not as timid for competition is a good thing. That might make him fight for his spot a little more and have the effect of making him less timid which is a good thing for him and the team.

Lol I'll stop being overly critical of English the day his unrepentant boosters acknowledge he's not the player we need or even the player they think he is.

Until we can actually discuss his flaws rationally without people blindly defending him then we won't have any worthwhile discussions about him.

No one said you can't criticise him, but you have to accept there are alternate views as well.
However derogatory terms for me is not on.

Would it be easier just to ignore the terms/posts?

I don't have a dog in the fight but maybe just an easier option.

What about all of your derogatory words for players from other teams and for those in the media?

Or is it we just can't make fun of our own?

Haha nah, he's not shit but not great either. I'd pick a dozen rucks before him but we've hitched our wagon to him for the next 5 years so I guess I'll search for positives.

I think he's a midfielder who grew too tall.

Hope Tim has a great pre season and has absolutely no excuses if his year is poor

I think he's the old Scanlens footy card "Utility", can play everywhere and play well, plays ruck because he's tall not because he's a natural ruckman which he isn't imo, have always preferred a ruckman who is strong in the contest and has those 2nd an 3rd efforts like that Port ruckman can't think of his name, and we have more than enough talls now back and forward to cover what he can do around the ground imo.
