Re: I've been looking at our Salary Cap / Total Player Payments.
It would be great to land say Butters. But do we need a big fish?
I’m moreso hoping we don’t lose another player in their prime (Marra being the prime suspect).
If our youngsters markedly improve we are going to need to pay them more too.
We seem to have to give up more to attract top liners, so I do wonder if overall it’s worth it.
When Bont has passed his peak I can see us wanting another gun mid though.

If Jones retires & Marra left. We?d have picks and cash to chase a gun ruck, a good KPD & move English forward/second ruck at a price cheaper than Marra and use him best.
Maybe the something is not just the normal things or money?

I've said this before.
Lean in to 'SOMETHING'.
- Rehab and recovery. Triple down on it. Full time pilates crew, Cryo chambers, you name it.
- Time at the club. Triple down on it. Less than everyone. Find a way.
- Food and catering.
...I'm sure everyone has their own idea. If it's just about cash, it wont work. If it's about facilities, well...to be honest everyone has good facilities and whilst ours are the best right now, they soon wont be (circle of things).
It cant be crowds or the coast...so what can it be.
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

I'm no foodie but I'm lowkey convinced Footscray has the best food in Melbourne.

Re: I've been looking at our Salary Cap / Total Player Payments.
What I'd like to do with our salary cap is focus on recruiting really good role players and paying a bit over the mark to get them to us.
Guys like Kennedy who finished top five to ten in their B&Fs (not saying we should have overpaid for him) and can bring quality to areas of the ground in which we're lacking, but instead of just one perhaps two or three as part of a concerted effort to change things up.
Outside of Butters, who is a lock to get to us, we're not going to all of a sudden attract the most elite talent. We have to draft it, which is fine as long as we draft the right type of person. And after we land Butters our weakness won't be top end talent anyway, it's the bottom twelve we have to focus on.
TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.
