It's time that the selectors made it official. The ?Bont? is the game's best player, and the ?Bont? should be without question, the All-Australian captain in 2024.

I was going to post something, now I can't recall what it was.

So... one for bulldogtragic...
So gut feel Bontempelli would be on $1m-$1.1m this season and he is out of contract end of 2025 and is an unrestricted free agent.
Which means if Bont wants to leave, he can walk, and we cannot do a damn thing about it.
How much will clubs such as St. Kilda, North Melbourne, Essendon etc. etc. offer Bontempelli to leave?
More of an In Bruges guy?

Re: Marcus Bontempelli
Bont would only want to leave for a chance at another flag I would imagine. Not sure cashed up clubs would be able to offer that more than us except Geelong who have an unlimited salary cap.
In terms of $$$ I'm sure Power has worked things to ensure he's more than taken care of. There's no way he's leaving to the likes of essendon, saints, North etc for extra cash.
My only concern (and it's minute) of Bont leaving is if we're still underperforming next year and he has lost patience.

Probably more than we could ever pay. But I’m not worried. He will be the highest ever player at our club ever and it’s captain. As long as we continue trending in the right direction and involved in any major decisions around Bevo if that’s a thing that’d impact him, then he’s close to a cert to stay id think. I’m sure he’ll have 18 offers or 18 list managers aren’t trying to get the best player in the league which would be derelict of them. That don’t mean much.

I'm also not worried. It would take a Petracca like situation for him to want out I reckon.

Bulldogs superstar Marcus Bontempelli has put on a ring on it, proposing to his partner Neila Brenning while on holiday in Tuscany in Italy.
The Bulldogs and All-Australian captain popped the question while on holiday in Florence, announced by Brenning with happy and romantic pictures on Instagram.
To the Ministry of Funk?s Superheavy Funk hit, she captioned the images: ?(Fi) Yonceeee all on his mouth like liqua? with a song and white love heart emoji.
In one picture the pair are embracing while she?s showing off her ring and in another they?ve posed together in a photo booth.
Many of his teammates and their partners commented with congratulations.
Brenning, from Canada, met Bontempelli while on holiday in Western Australia after the 2021 grand final.
He first hinted at their relationship in May 2022 by posting some stories of her to Instagram.
A professional ice hockey player with Melbourne Ice, Brenning has also posted a video on social media overnight of the couple at an Arsenal match.
After last year claiming his second Leigh Matthews Trophy, voted by his peers as the AFL Players? Association?s Most Valuable Player, Bontempelli paid tribute to her.
?I?ll start with where it all begins and finishes and that?s with my family, the support you get from people in your corner: my folks, three sisters and their partners, and especially my partner Neila,?? Bontempelli said.
?Through all the good things and also the challenges at times, I?m so lucky to be so well supported through thick and thin and family is one thing you can always rely on no matter what. Thank you to my family, it?s a special experience to have you all here with me.?
Bontempelli was voted by his peers as the AFLPA MVP again this year and also claimed a sixth Charles Sutton Medal, the Bulldogs best and fairest.

Now put a contract with the ring and we have a settled Captain.

What a lovely photo. We are so lucky to have Marcus it will be the Wedding of the Year, capped off with a Brownlow and another Flag. Suitable trifecta that.
