    Two quick wickets already this morning. Didn't see Khawaja's but Voges dismissal was terrible - half way through a pull shot and decides not to play it and ball hits the middle of the blade and straight to gully. That will be Voges' last test innings.

      Make that 3 down. Surely cricketers at this level when leaving a ball are able to get their bat (and gloves) out of the way.

        We've now lost 6/22. Voges career is done. Nevill will be back in the Shield

          What an absolute disgrace. It has been a long time since our cricket team was at such a low point. We would struggle beating Bangladesh (no disrespect to them) at present

            Re: Australia vs South Africa: Test Two

            In this Test;

            Burns has made 1 run from 2 innings
            Voges has made 2 runs from 2 innings
            Ferguson has made 4 runs from 2 innings
            Nevill has made 9 runs from 2 innings

            So that's 16 runs for 8 wickets from batsmen in the top 7 at an average of 2

              18/125 in both collapses this test.

                Were the 80s this bad (considering the quality of opposition in comparison)?

                  That was a brutal display by the Saffer quicks this morning - 8/32 in 19 overs and a whole lot of play and misses in between as well. We are a poor batting lineup technically but I haven't seen a sustained spell of brilliant pace bowling like that since the Windies in the early 90's.

                    18/117 combined this test then. Two collapses of epic crap proportions this test.

                      We were abysmal from 1984 to 1986 but there were mitigating factors - 2 rebel tours to Sth Africa robbed us of a few players who would have been in the best 11 meant that a very young team was moulded around Allan Border. Also losing Lillee, Marsh and Greg Chappell all at the same time left a hole.

                      This team is just ordinary and old. The bowling lineup is fine (spinner excepted) but this batting lineup is simply not up to international standard. Starc and Hazlewood is a quality 1-2 punch to open the bowling, and the combination of Warner/Usman/Smith are all quality at this level (notwithstanding Warner's occasional brain farts) but the rest of the 6 spots are completely up for grabs.

                        If the medico's didn't screw up Pattinson & Cummins our quicks would be elite as a group. There's failings on a few levels.

                          He'll end up with a test career average over 60 - the ultimate example of stats being misleading.

                            What? Martin Love's last innings was a century, if you don't mind. Stats are misleading, sure...
