Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood are the best 3 pronged pace attack we've ever had. Throw in Lyon and it's a potent bowling line up.

Shame we can't get the batting right.
Our 1954 premiership players are our heroes, and it has to be said that Charlie was their hero.

That was a sublime bowling performance by Cummins and Hazlewood. Just brilliant - the line was immaculate but the length was absolutely perfect.

Feel sorry for Burns, he's like a sitting duck out there.

Crazy stuff. Just flicked it on now. Only need 75 to win it on Day 3.

Did I just hear that India were something like 15 for 89 since the Kholi run out?

What a way to finish off - Burns with a 6 and 51 not out

Whether he should have been playing is kind of irrelevant now I guess, but it was good to see Burns actually progress to some semblance of form as his innings progressed.

Labuschagne was a bit of a worry even though he made it into the forties in the first innings. His second innings dismissal was pretty ordinary as he had time to adjust to the delivery but chose to go the tonk anyway.

The fast bowlers were tremendous. Touring teams struggle with length bowling so often.
                  TF is this?.........Obviously you're not a golfer.

Labuschagne looked impatient and his shot selection rushed in both innings, I hope Langer resets expectations with him today
Burns again look out of sorts early but credit too him for get some invaluable time in the middle

I guess the challenge for the selectors now is to decide what to do if Warner is available for the Boxing day test
Do we keep Green or move Wade back to number 6?
Part of the argument for the all-rounder with the tests squashed together this summer is that it lessens the burden on the bowling unit but with the test match finishing 2 days early our quicks should be as fresh as it gets

Cricket is a funny old game isn't it?

I've said it before and I'm going to say it again. Test match cricket is the best form of the greatest game in the history of the world.
They say Burt Lancaster has one, but I don't believe them.

I think we need to prioritise runs, especially with Virat heading home. Warner comes in, Wade goes back down the order. Do we think Pucovski is any chance for Harris if fit?

I think that is the way we should go as well but our selectors seem to be committed to getting an all-rounder of Greens potential so giving up on him after one game will go against their will

Perhaps Travis Head is the odd man out

I wouldn't be picking Pucovski anytime soon. Despite his immense talent the ongoing concussion challenges should have the selectors hitting the pause button.

Hmmm, you're possibly right regarding Green and Harris, and Pucovski as well.

We're always only one breakdown away from being caught short in a game, and Green can get the ball above 135km meaning he's not a slouch.

I saw Pucovski interviewed the other day and it stood out to me how green he is. Glass half full you could call it earnestness, though he made a point of suggesting that one of his cricket concussions wasn't his fault, and then another point of suggesting his first concussion wasn't his fault either because he got slung when he didn't need to be after handballing the ball away. Not a big deal, just seemed quite defencive and I don't really know why he needed to even say that stuff.

Anyway, I hope he can get under the rising the ball and get some continuity. We need some very high quality younger players putting pressure on.
