That's a pretty cool story! BTW one of the highlights for us at Williamstown Tech and Peter Norman who i actually knew for many years living in Willy was that he had this little bunker underneath the school P.E hall where Pete had his huge electric mini car racing set up where you could actually purchase the car kits to be made up and race on his track, was awesome! The way he was treated by the Australian Olympic committee after standing on the podium with Tommie Smith and John Carlos was nothing short of disgraceful.

I listened to his manager a bit earlier. He just think Gout is an outstanding youngster and the way the manager talked he's got a plan to help him on this journey.

He is a super talent. His top end speed in the 100m is astonishing.
Heard his father explain that in Egypt, where he sought refuge, an Arabic speaker wrongly rendered fis name, GUOT as GOUT
It should be, he said, pronounced "G W O T"

If he remains injury free he may well re-write the record books. 100m 9.58 Bolt. 200m 19.19 Bolt
Guot Guot ran 20.04 in the 200. So 0.85 secs slower than Bolt. But that translates to a tad more that 8.5 meters in actual distance. Remember Bolt was covering more than 10mt per second. If Guot had run 20 secs dead he would have been covering exactly 10mt per second. Top line sprinting is wind blowing.

If you watch the videos too it actually looks like they stopped the stopwatch late too, so he might've been even faster! I can't remember the last time I've been this excited about an Australian athlete. I hope he keeps it together and has the right people around him.

This is going to sound greedy but wouldn't it be great to have some other runners in Australia pushing each other to greater performances? I'm old enough to remember Cram, Ovett and Coe competing against each other in 800 and 1,500mtr races

He has just been given a huge contract with Adidas worth $6 million. Not bad for a 17 year old about to do year 12. Will be guaranteed at least $1 million per year

He's got an exceptionally bright career in front of him. That's a terrific deal to help set him up.
I've listened to his manager and he's getting great advice.

Getting great advice is important, but it also requires him to accept guidance.

The world is literally at his feet. Hopefully he can develop and grow through the inevitable challenges that confront everyone at some stage of their life.
