I've only seen him say he didn't catch it.

Something he shows time and time again he is not able to do.
The irony is, that when Gilly was up & running, alot of people were saying he's not a natural keeper, but more an all rounder keeper batsman which is why he's in the side etc etc, many were saying Haddin who was always next in line for some time, was far more a natural gloveman than Gilly, i think Darren Berry may have been one to say that on a few occasions.

Just goes to show, Gilly wasn't too bad behind the stumps!

You know the golden rule when handing out nicknames from team mates, they don't always have to be complimentary..

I wonder how long it will take for the drums to start beating in South Africa??

McKenzie is out of his depth against quality bowling, he has to go, but will probably captain the team in the 3rd test.

Boucher isn't the same force with the bat and is making uncharacteristic mistakes with the gloves.

Ntini just doesn't have the same penetration and venom as he once had.

Amazing how quickly this game can change.

Based on what was posted in another thread McKenzie will be dropped, and Prince will come in to captain the side.

They still have a very good side, we've just been able to make the most of our opportunities at the crucial times, which SA haven't done this time around.

But he let it go upstairs for it to be reviewed. He should have let the umpires know that he didn't take it legally.

McKenzie and M. Morkel have been axed.

Smith unavailable due to injury which means an entirely new opening partnership. Risky, but they have already lost the series and can't claim the Number 1 spot so they have nothing to lose really.

I reckon the Saffers were elevated well beyond their collective ability after inflicting Australia's first test series loss on home soil in 16 years. Closer to the truth is that the Saffers are a slightly above-average team that doesn't have a 4th or 5th gear. They play solid, unspectacular cricket that gradually wears down opponents. They also possess one of the worst 8-11 batting line-ups in world cricket, have a couple of weak links in their bowling and also a shaky opener. All Australia needed to do was reinvigorate the team with in-form players and weed out the non-performers and disruptive influences irrespective of reputation. The selectors made a right hash of the Indian tour and the Australian summer but they got this touring team just right.

The first 3 wickets to fall last night were at the top shelf of fast bowling - absolutely brilliant stuff.

The ball that Duminy was dropped off was probably the best of the lot.

I would never have thought to look in a thread titled 'Hashim Amla' to find posts on team changes.

                          Fair enough.

They are probably still one quality quick and a quality spinner away from being a REALLY good side (such as we were during our prime a few years ago).

Their batting is very strong, and will only get better as quite a few of their guys are very young still.

As far as their batting depth later in the order, Albie Morkel would make a bit of difference if selected for the final game. With Boucher out of form and our bowlers doing very well they have been exposed a bit in this area, which probably wouldn't have been seen as a major concern before this summer.
Have you heard Butters wants to come to the Dogs?

On a side note: Where is Gibbs at? Still a very, very good batsmen. Thought he played pretty well during the ODI's too - but hasn't rated a mention for the test squad?

I think Haddins keeping has been below par in this series and needs to be looked at in the longer term.

Who do you nominate as his replacement?
Paine is probably the closest but he isn't a brilliant glove man either. Hartley has great glove work but would be no better than a number 8 at the test level.
