Cracker of a second goal by Ghana, which will probably knock the Yanks out.
    The curse is dead.

        Re: FIFA World Cup 2010

The scoring in the 2 games this morning were almost mirror images. The favourite getting an early goal, the underdogs leveling the scores with about half an hour left before the better team slotted home the winner late (very late in the case of the Black Stars).

In tonight's games watch for Germany to beat England on penalties, and Messi to lead Argentina to a 3-1 win over the Mexicans.

Surely the time has come for FIFA to use goal line technology!!!

Frank Lampard's shot crossed the line by at least a yard, only to fond the linesman say it didn't cross the line!

It's not like FIFA can't afford the cost.

Use TV technology full stop! There have been numerous incidents at this world cup alone which warranted a 2nd look. Its head in the sand stuff really.

Why couldn't the Poms just get beaten for once without all the controversy?

Us Aussies have been accused of being 'Pommy Whingers' after speaking out after receiving a tough run with ref's (justifiably too)... Watch the masters flick into action now.

Didn't the controversy end when Germany scored twice more?

It was a weird display by England, who didn't attack until Germany had scored twice, then had a good 10 minutes before going defensive again after the goal/non-goal controversy. And it wasn't like there was an on-field controversy - Germany nearly scored at the other end within 20seconds of the non-decision. Much like Mexico against Argentina, it is sudden death and you have to score to win...so why the defensive structure and defensive game-style?
What should I tell her? She's going to ask.

Interesting article about the Jabulani ball yesterday with Adidas stating they may have made a mistake with introducing this ball for such a big event such as the World Cup.
This was due to its unpredicatability.
Hence why I stand by my original comment that I do not rate the goals as highly (yes there were some high class goals) as previously.

The Poms will say that they had committed extra numbers forward in the pursuit of the tying goal which is why they got caught on the counter.

In-fact the Poms were made to look slow & un-skilled by a slick German outfit.

Most of the goals scored in this 2nd phase of matches have been brilliant with Tevez & Suarez being able to curve the ball with ease.

Agree that the ball isn't perfect, but the more highly skilled players and teams are still making it 'talk'.
